DENTAL ANESTHETIC DELIVERY DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

This disclosure relates to dental anesthetic delivery devices and associated methods for using the same. In certain embodiments, an anesthetic delivery device may comprise a pressure-driven needleless injector configured to deliver anesthetic deeply into the gingiva, allowing for a deep numbing and anesthetic effect and reducing pain from subsequent anesthetic injections and/or dental procedures. In some embodiments, the anesthetic delivery device may be T-shaped allowing for a shorter longitude axis length of the syringe body, improved clinician view of the oral cavity during use, single hand and/or ambidextrous use, and/or improved control during positioning.

Systems and methods for anesthetizing ear tissue

A system and method for use in iontophoretic anesthesia of a tympanic membrane are disclosed. The system generally includes an earplug and an electrode device. The earplug includes at least one sealing member for sealing the earplug in an ear canal. The sealing member includes microholes which vent fluid above a certain pressure threshold. A headset may connect the earplug to a second earplug. The method involves using the system on a human or animal subject.

Computer controlled pediatric regional anesthesia

A drug delivery and monitoring device comprising a nerve stimulating element configured to deliver an electric stimulus, a recording element configured to detect a compound action potential, and a drug-delivery element.

Aerosol delivery device and method of operating the aerosol delivery device

An aerosol delivery device includes an aerosol generator for generating an aerosol in the aerosol delivery device with a membrane and a vibrator which is configured to vibrate a fluid and to aerosolise the fluid by the membrane. The aerosol delivery device further includes a fluid reservoir for receiving the fluid to be aerosolised, the fluid reservoir being arranged in fluid communication with the membrane, a controller which is configured to sequentially operate the vibrator at a plurality of different vibration frequencies, a sensor which is configured to detect at least one electrical parameter of the vibrator for each of the plurality of different vibration frequencies, and a detector which is configured to detect the presence of fluid in contact with the membrane and/or in the fluid reservoir on the basis of the dependence of the detected values of the at least one electrical parameter on the vibration frequency.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ANESTHETIC AGENT LEAKAGE DIAGNOSTICS
20200254201 · 2020-08-13 ·

Methods and systems are provided for anesthetic agent leakage diagnostics. In one embodiment, a method for diagnosing leaks in an anesthetic vaporizer includes calculating a leakage rate based on measurements of an anesthetic agent level in a sump of the anesthetic vaporizer, the measurements received from a fluid level sensor at a first time and a second time, and outputting a maintenance alert responsive to the leakage rate exceeding a threshold.

Anesthesia machine, oxygen battery calibration system and calibration method thereof

An oxygen battery calibration system can include a breathing circuit that includes an inspiratory branch, an expiratory branch, an absorption tank branch, an inspiratory one-way valve, a connection pipeline and an expiratory one-way valve. The inspiratory and expiratory branches can communicate via the connection pipeline. The inspiratory and expiratory one-way valves can be arranged respectively in the inspiratory and expiratory branches, one end of the absorption tank branch can communicate with the inspiratory branch and can be located at a front end of the inspiratory one-way valve, and the other end of the absorption tank branch can communicate with the expiratory branch and can be located at a rear end of the expiratory one-way valve. The system can also include an oxygen battery connected to the inspiratory branch, with a joint being located at a rear end of the inspiratory one-way valve, and a calibration management controller.

Treatment of thalamocortical dysrhythmia

A method for treating conditions associated with thalamocortical dysrhythmia. The method includes applying transcranial low voltage electrical stimulation (TLVES) therapy or transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy to a patient in need thereof, and administering to the patient a dissociative anesthetic during the TLVES therapy or the TMS therapy. A number of conditions including tinnitus, depression and pain can be treated with TLVES or TMS in combination with the dissociative anesthetic, such as an NMADR inhibitor, including ketamine.

Endo-Tracheal Catheter for Use in an Anesthetic Procedure
20200222650 · 2020-07-16 ·

An endo-tracheal catheter (1) for use in an anesthetic procedure comprises a catheter tube (10) to be inserted into the trachea (40) of a patient (4), the catheter tube (10) having a tubular wall (101) defining an inner lumen (102) for guiding a gaseous flow, and a connection piece (11) which defines a chamber (110) being in fluid connection with the catheter tube (10) and comprising a port (110) for connecting a detection device (2) to the endo-tracheal catheter (1) for detecting at least one substance in the gaseous flow flowing through the catheter tube (10). Herein, an insert tube (13) is received in the inner lumen (102) of the catheter tube (10) for guiding the gaseous flow through the catheter tube (10) and/or a coating (103) covers the tubular wall (101) at a side facing the inner lumen (102) for guiding the gaseous flow through the catheter tube (10). In this way, an endo-tracheal catheter is provided which allows for an accurate measurement of a substance concentration in a gaseous flow, in particular in the context of an anesthesia procedure.
