Assembly for sequentially percutaneously applying an electrode and an anesthetic to tissue
An assembly for performing an electrosurgical procedure. A cannula includes a cannula hub defining a middle bore having a smaller diameter than a proximal bore. An electrode includes an electrode head having an outer diameter smaller than the proximal bore and greater than the middle bore. A syringe includes a syringe head having a length sufficient to extend past the proximal bore, and an outer diameter sized to engage the middle bore to form an annular seal at an interface between the syringe and the cannula. A step may define a transition surface between the proximal bore and the middle bore, and at least one notch may be within the step to maintain fluid communication between the middle bore and the proximal bore when the electrode head is engaging the step. The cannula head may include first and second locking features configured to engage the syringe and electrode, respectively.
Method of performing a sphenopalatine ganglion block procedure
Methods and devices to quickly and accurately locate the sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) while performing a sphenopalatine ganglion block procedure that introduces a medication to the SPG. The methods and devices also prevent the medication applied to the SPG from flowing down a patient's throat during the procedure.
Dispersion anaesthetic device
The invention concerns a cartridge for an inhalation device for delivering anaesthetic to a human or animal wherein anaesthetic in the cartridge is dispersed in an anaesthetic control release medium; an inhalation device for use with the cartridge and a formulation including at least one selected anaesthetic and anaesthetic control release medium.
Device for cooling anesthesia by chilled fluidic cooling medium
A hand-held or wearable device for cooling tissue of an eye of a patient is disclosed. In one aspect, the device includes a reservoir having fluid therein and a support connected to the reservoir and configured to be positioned on a face of the patient. The device also includes a nozzle positioned proximate to the support and fluidically connected to the reservoir, the nozzle configured to pass the fluid from the reservoir onto a surface of the eye. The device further includes a cooling element configured to cool the fluid from the reservoir such that it exits the nozzle at a temperature of between −100° C. and 15° C. The device further includes an ultrasonic vibrator positioned near the nozzle and configured to generate mist from at least part of the fluid.
Systems and methods for an inductively heated anesthetic vaporizer
Methods and systems are provided for delivering anesthetic agent to a patient. In one embodiment, an anesthetic vaporizer includes a vaporizing chamber configured to hold a liquid anesthetic agent; a grid disposed within the vaporizing chamber; and a heating element positioned relative to the vaporizing chamber and configured to increase the temperature of the grid.
Dental anesthetic buffer system
A dental anesthetic buffer system has a carpule having a first end and a second end, a capsule at least partially disposed within the carpule proximate the first end so as to fluidly seal the first end, and a membrane disposed proximate the second end so as to fluidly seal the second end. A liquid anesthetic is contained within the carpule between the first end and the second end. A liquid buffer is contained within the capsule. An activator is disposed proximate the buffer and extends from the carpule first end. The activator is manually moved from a first position to a second position so as to release the buffer from the capsule and combine the buffer with the anesthetic.
PLEURAL DRAINAGE SET AND PLEURAL DRAINAGE METHOD
A single use pleural drainage set for medical use, which allows drainage by all physicians of air (pneumothorax), blood (hemothorax) and all other liquids (hydrothorax) accumulated abnormally in the thoracic cavity (pleural space (I)).
IMPLANTABLE NERVE BLOCKING INTERVENTION
The implantable nerve blocking intervention involves performing a first subdermal incision on the ventral lateral portion of the patient's thorax. A first end of a tunneling device is inserted through the first subdermal incision. The tunneling device is traversed below the patient's dermal layer towards the mid axillary line. The tunneling device is traversed above the lower section of the rib cage towards the patient's paralumbar line. A longitudinal paramidline incision is performed about 3 inches lateral to the vertebral body and the tunneling device. A needle or trocar tip is inserted through the paramidline incision towards a primitive cluster of nerves and a catheter is placed through the needle or trocar which is removed prior to anchoring the catheter. A catheter tube is inserted through the length of the tunneling device. The catheter tube is coupled to the distal catheter. The tunneling device is retracted over the catheter tube. The catheter tube is coupled to a percutaneous access port.
APPLICATOR FOR CRYOANESTHESIA AND ANALGESIA
A handheld cryoanesthesia or analgesia device for cooling a target area on cutaneous membranes, mucous membranes, and tissue of the mucocutaneous zone having an elongated body and a thermoelectric cooling system disposed within the elongated body. The thermoelectric cooling system is configured to physically contact and thermally couple the target area of the cutaneous membranes, mucous membranes, and tissue of the mucocutaneous zone to induce cryoanesthesia or analgesia. The thermoelectric cooling system includes a thermally-conductive cold tip, a thermally-conductive cooling power concentrator thermally coupled to the cold tip, at least one Peltier unit module thermally coupled to the cooling power concentrator, a heatsink thermally coupled to at least one Peltier unit module, a power source, at least one thermal sensor, and a controller operably outputting a control signal to the Peltier unit module to maintain a predetermined temperature.
RELOCATION MODULE AND METHODS FOR SURGICAL EQUIPMENT
Module for housing electronic and electromechanical medical equipment including a portable digital camera and processing circuitry with machine vision and machine learning software for automatically documenting healthcare events and healthcare equipment operations in the electronic health record.
