Feed-forward power amplifier with offline tuning capability
A method and base station transmitter for providing offline tuning of a base station transmitter. The base station transmitter includes a feed-forward power amplifier comprising a Radio Frequency (RF) input and an RF output. The base station transmitter also includes a simulated carrier generator operatively coupled to the feed-forward power amplifier prior to the carrier cancellation loop. The simulated carrier generator provides a simulated carrier signal including one or more individual carrier frequencies to the RF input. The base station transmitter also includes a processor that is operatively coupled to the feed-forward power amplifier and the simulated carrier generator. The processor performs tuning of a carrier cancellation loop using the simulated carrier signal when the processor determines that a carrier signal is not present.
Digital pre-distortion circuit and digital pre-distortion method
A digital pre-distortion circuit and a digital pre-distortion method are provided. In the method, pre-distortion, digital-to-analog conversion and an amplifying process are performed on an input signal in sequence, to generate an output signal. A first bandwidth of the input signal after the pre-distortion is greater than a second bandwidth of the input signal after the digital-to-analog conversion. Signals outside the second bandwidth are filtered out from the output signal, to generate a second output signal. A third output signal, which is a signal after a pre-distorted signal is amplified, is estimated according to the pre-distorted signal and the second output signal. The pre-distorted signal is a signal after the pre-distortion is performed on the input signal. A third bandwidth of the third output signal is greater than the second bandwidth. Parameters of the pre-distortion can be determined according to the third output signal and the pre-distorted signal.

The processing chain further includes a driver logic of the DC-DC converter, which processing chain has a device for calculating peak value over a sliding time window and a supply voltage selection device.
Multi-Stage Chained Feedback Regulated Voltage Supply
Circuits and methods for reducing the cost and/or power consumption of a user terminal and/or the gateway of a telecommunications system that may include a telecommunications satellite. Embodiments include chained feedback-regulated voltage supply circuits. These circuits substantially eliminate the need for separate regulator circuits for each regulated voltage. These circuits are designed to automatically maintain a substantially constant first voltage at a first node for a first load and maintain a substantially constant second voltage at a second node for a second load. Some disclosed configurations of these circuits may be useful to achieve greater current capability at the same voltage without requiring larger switches and higher inductor and capacitor sizes that may be needed in a single (conventional) stage voltage supply circuit.
MODULATION AGNOSTIC DIGITAL HYBRID MODE POWER AMPLIFIER SYSTEM AND METHOD
A RF-digital hybrid mode power amplifier system for achieving high efficiency and high linearity in wideband communication systems is disclosed. The present invention is based on the method of adaptive digital predistortion to linearize a power amplifier in the RF domain. The present disclosure enables a power amplifier system to be field reconfigurable and support multi-modulation schemes (modulation agnostic), multi-carriers and multi-channels. As a result, the digital hybrid mode power amplifier system is particularly suitable for wireless transmission systems, such as base-stations, repeaters, and indoor signal coverage systems, where baseband I-Q signal information is not readily available.
Method for improving linearity of radio frequency power amplifier, compensation circuit and communications terminal
A method for improving the linearity of a radio frequency power amplifier, a compensation circuit (307) for implementing the method, and a communications terminal with the compensation circuit (307). In the method, a compensation circuit (307) is connected between a base (a3) and a collector (b3) of a transistor of a common emitter amplifier (306), in order to neutralize the impact of a variation in capacitance between the base (a3) and the collector (b3) of the transistor (306) according to a radio frequency signal. No additional direct-current power consumption is needed, and degradation in performance of other radio frequency power amplifiers can be avoided. The corresponding compensation circuit (307) can be easily integrated with a main amplification circuit, without affecting other performance of the main amplification circuit, and provides high adjustability.
POWER AMPLIFIER MODULE
A power amplifier module includes a combining circuit including a combiner. The combining circuit further includes a first inductor connected in series between an output terminal of a first amplifier and the combiner, a second inductor connected in series between an output terminal of a second amplifier and the combiner, and a second capacitor having an end connected to the combiner and another end grounded. A phase of a third signal from the output terminal of the first amplifier to the second amplifier through the combiner is delayed by about 45 degrees in the first inductor and the second capacitor, and is delayed by about 45 degrees in the second inductor and the second capacitor. A phase of the third signal from the output terminal of the first amplifier to the second amplifier through the first capacitor is advanced by about 90 degrees.
