MEDICAL TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHODS USING A PLURALITY OF FLUID LINES
A system including a pumping cassette having a first side including number of valve wells and second side having a fluid bus. Each side may be covered by a flexible membrane. A control surface having a number of valve well control stations actuatable with respect to the flexible membrane covering the first side of the cassette to open and close the valve wells when the cassette is mated against the control surface may be included. A pressure distribution assembly having a positive and negative pressure source and a number of pneumatic valves may be included. A controller configured to selectively actuate the number of pneumatic valves to apply pressure against the valve well control stations in a valve pumping sequence until a volume displaced through the fluid bus of the pumping cassette from a source to a destination is within a range of a target volume may be included.
Determining a volume of a container for dialysis treatment
A method includes receiving, by a processor of a dialysis machine, a dialysate flow rate, a bicarbonate setting value, a signal from a pressure sensor configured to measure a pressure within a container, and a signal indicating a state of a fill valve; determining, based on the signal received from the pressure sensor and the state of the fill valve, fill parameters; determining a volume of the container based on at least two of the fill parameters; determining a depletion time in which the concentrate will be depleted from the container based on the volume of the container, the dialysate flow rate, and the bicarbonate setting value; determining, based on the depletion time, an amount of time remaining before the concentrate will be depleted from the container; and causing the dialysis machine to indicate the amount of time remaining before the concentrate will be depleted from the container.
Weight-based peritoneal dialysis system including a drain trolley
A dialysis system and dialysis machine or cycler are provided that decrease a disposable set's cost and complexity. The dialysis machine or cycler includes a weigh scale on which multiple fluid supply containers containing dialysis fluid, and a drain trolley, are positioned. The fluid supply containers may be elevated relative to the drain trolley. The drain trolley is sized to contain all of the effluent drained from a patient during a dialysis treatment. The fluid supply containers are in fluid communication with one another and arranged one of top of the other. A control unit may control fill, dwell and drain cycles by controlling the operation of a pump and a valve. Dialysis fluid from the bottom-most fluid supply container may be pumped into a patient. The valve may be opened to allow effluent to drain from the patient to the drain trolley by way of gravity.
