INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing device includes a control unit that generates a display image in which a profile and puff detection timing-related information are associated and displayed, the profile being information that relates to an operation performed by an inhalation device that uses a substrate to generate an aerosol, the operation generating the aerosol, and the puff detection timing being the timing at which user inhalation of the aerosol generated by the inhalation device was detected.
ARTIFICIAL HEART CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A controller for an artificial heart enables activity-specific adjustments to the operation of an artificial heart by obtaining sensor data from a plurality of sensors monitoring characteristics of a patient's body, and using the sensor data as input to one or more control parameter models for identifying control parameters to be provided to the artificial heart to adjust the operational parameters of the artificial heart. The controller is in wireless communication with the artificial heart via an application program interface (API)-based communication channel that facilitates communication between the controller and the artificial heart. Moreover, a cloud-based management computing entity may be utilized to train and/or execute one or more models to enable real-time updates to the operational characteristics of the artificial heart to enable the artificial heart to appropriately accommodate activities of the patient.
Fluid delivery systems and methods
A method of dispensing fluid includes three processes. A first one of these processes includes pumping fluid into a resilient variable-volume dispensing chamber. The dispensing chamber is in series with a normally present finite fluid impedance and an output. The impedance is sufficient so as to cause expansion of the dispensing chamber as it receives pumped fluid even while some fluid flows through the output. Another one of these processes includes repeatedly measuring a parameter related to volume of the dispensing chamber over time. A third one of these processes includes controlling the pumping of fluid based on repeated measurements of the parameter to produce a desired fluid flow through the output. A corresponding system for dispensing fluid implements these processes.
DRUG DEVICE CONFIGURED FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
This invention relates to an ingestible drug delivery device configured for wireless communication with other ingestible drug delivery devices.
Negative Pressure Therapy System and Methods
A system for removing fluid from a urinary tract includes at least one sensor configured to detect signal(s) representative of pulmonary artery pressure and communicate signal(s) representative of the pulmonary artery pressure and a controller. The controller is configured to: receive and process the signal(s) from the at least one sensor to determine if the pulmonary artery pressure is above, below, or at a predetermined value; and provide a control signal, determined at least in part from the pulmonary artery pressure signal(s) received from the at least one sensor, to a negative pressure source to apply negative pressure to a urinary catheter to remove fluid from a urinary tract when the pulmonary artery pressure is above the predetermined value and to cease applying negative pressure when the pulmonary artery pressure is at or below the predetermined value.
Wireless diagnostic system for indirect flow measurement in artificial heart pumps
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed for optimizing management of one or more implanted artificial heart pumps. An example method includes wirelessly retrieving, via one or more portable diagnostic devices, data regarding the one or more implanted artificial heart pumps. The example method further includes analyzing, by a server device, performance characteristics of the one or more implanted artificial heart pumps based on the retrieved data. The example method further includes causing rendering of the performance characteristics. Corresponding apparatuses and computer program products are contemplated.
Drainage device comprising a filter cleaning device
The present invention relates to a filtering device for removing particles from a bodily fluid of a patient, the filtering device being implantable in the patient's body. The device has a tube forming a main fluid passageway for bodily fluid, through which the bodily fluid of the patient passes when the tube is implanted in the patient, a filter connected to the tube and a filter cleaning device for cleaning the filter by moving particles collected by the filter out of the fluid passageway, wherein the filter cleaning device is adapted to replace the first filter in the fluid passageway with a second filter, thereby moving the particles collected by the first filter out of the fluid passageway.
POWER MANAGEMENT FOR INTERATRIAL SHUNTS AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present technology relates to power management for interatrial shunting systems. In some embodiments, the present technology includes a system for shunting blood between a left atrium and a right atrium of a patient. The system can include a shunting element and a plurality of active electronic components operably coupled to the shunting element. At least some of the active electronic components have different power consumption characteristics. The system also includes a plurality of energy storage components, with some of the energy storage components have different characteristics. During operation, the system is configured to receive a signal indicating that an active electronic component is to be operated, and select an energy storage component associated with power output characteristics capable of accommodating the power consumption characteristics of the active electronic component. The system is further configured to instruct the selected energy storage component to power operation of the active electronic component.
FLUID DRUG SPREAD-PROMOTING PUMP
An implantable infusate spread promoting system configured to enable improved dispersion of delivered infusate. The system including an implantable device configured to enable infusate delivery within a body of a patient, and an implantable manually actuatable flushing pump configured to remove and re-inject a quantity of fluid with each actuation to promote improved dispersion of the delivered infusate.
CIRCULATORY ASSIST PUMP
A minimally invasive circulatory support platform that utilizes an aortic stent pump or pumps. The platform uses a low profile catheter-based techniques and provides temporary and chronic circulatory support depending on the needs of the patient. Further described is a wirelessly powered circulatory assist pump for providing chronic circulatory support to, for example, heart failure patients. The platform and system are relatively easy to place, have higher flow rates than existing systems, and provide improvements in the patient's renal function.
