A positive airway pressure device includes a blower and a base. A blower outlet passage is connected to the blower and has a central tubular portion and a flexible sealing portion surrounding an outer circumferential surface of the central tubular portion. The base receives a tub with a heat conducting base plate, an internal air passage configured to receive the pressurized flow of respiratory gas from the blower outlet passage, and a pair of tub flanges extending laterally from respective side walls of the tub. Each tub flange has a horizontal portion and a tapered portion. The base further includes a floor with a heater plate a pair of base flanges. Each base flange extends laterally inward from a respective one of the side walls and engages a respective tub flange as the tub is inserted into the base with the tapered portions of the tub flanges being received first.
Multi function docking module for a pressure support therapy system
A charging and data transfer method for use in a pressure support system adapted to provide a regimen of respiratory therapy to a patient includes establishing a near-field wireless coupling interface between a pressure generating device base unit of the pressure support system and a wireless peripheral device (32) of the pressure support system, transferring energy from the pressure generating device base unit to the wireless peripheral device over the near-field wireless coupling interface and using the transferred energy in the wireless peripheral device to charge an energy storage device (72) of the wireless peripheral device, and transferring pairing information between the pressure generating device base unit and the wireless peripheral device over the near-field wireless coupling interface.
ELECTRONIC VAPORISER SYSTEM
A case for an electronic cigarette vaporiser, the case including an automatic lifting mechanism that lifts the vaporiser up a few mm from the case to enable a user to easily grasp the vaporiser and withdraw it from the case. The lifting mechanism can be spring- based. The case both re-fills the vaporiser with liquid and also re-charges a battery in the vaporiser.
FLOAT-CONTROLLED VALVE ARRAY HAVING REDUNDANTLY ACTING FLOAT BODIES
A float-controlled valve array including a valve assembly having a conduit, a valve seat formation through which the conduit passes, and a valve body formation which is movable between a closed position in which the conduit is closed and an open position in which a flow through the conduit is possible; the valve array further including a first and a second float body having a first and a second buoyancy volume portion, respectively, wherein the first and the second float bodies are articulated pivotally on a first and a second joint, respectively, so that during specified normal operation, each float body is movable along a buoyancy axis between a lowered position and a buoyant position, and wherein the first float body and the second float body are each coupled to the valve body formation in such a way that the valve body formation is in the closed position when at least one of the float bodies is in the buoyant position, and is in the open position when both float bodies are in the lowered position; the buoyancy volume portions of the two float bodies are mutually spaced apart at a distance orthogonal to the buoyancy axis in the lowered position, wherein at least one joint is located in a body spacing region between the two buoyancy volume portions.
Syringe Pump, and Related Method and System
A method for discharging fluid from a syringe and for mitigating occlusion conditions includes actuating the plunger of a syringe into a barrel. The method monitors fluid pressure within the barrel of the syringe and determines that an occlusion exists when the fluid pressure exceeds a predetermined threshold. The method actuates the plunger out of the barrel by a predetermined amount in response to the detected occlusion and actuates the plunger of the syringe into the barrel until a measured fluid pressure within the barrel of the syringe exceeds another predetermined threshold.
Humidifier reservoir
A reservoir configured to retain a volume of liquid for use in an apparatus for humidifying a flow of pressurised air comprises a base portion and a lid portion. The reservoir may be configured to improve its level of thermal contact to the heater plate using the flow of pressurised air. The reservoir may be configured to improve thermal contact between the reservoir and the heater plate by pre-compression upon engagement of the reservoir with the humidifier. The reservoir may comprise a removable intermediate portion, which may include the inlet tube and/or the outlet tube, for improved access for cleaning. The reservoir may also be configured to prevent overfilling. Overfill prevention features in the reservoir may include defined flow egress paths and/or formation of air locks.
APPARATUS FOR INFUSING FLUID
A pump for pumping fluid includes a tube platen, a plunger, a bias member, inlet and outlet valves, an actuator mechanism, a position sensor, and a processor. The plunger is configured for actuation toward and away from the infusion-tube when the tube platen is disposed opposite to the plunger. The tube platen can hold an intravenous infusion tube. The bias member is configured to urge the plunger toward the tube platen.
INTEGRATED MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE FOR USE WITH CONTINUOUS ANALYTE SENSOR
An integrated system for the monitoring and treating diabetes is provided, including an integrated receiver/hand-held medicament injection pen, including electronics, for use with a continuous glucose sensor. In some embodiments, the receiver is configured to receive continuous glucose sensor data, to calculate a medicament therapy (e.g., via the integrated system electronics) and to automatically set a bolus dose of the integrated hand-held medicament injection pen, whereby the user can manually inject the bolus dose of medicament into the host. In some embodiments, the integrated receiver and hand-held medicament injection pen are integrally formed, while in other embodiments they are detachably connected and communicated via mutually engaging electrical contacts and/or via wireless communication.
MULTIFUNCTONAL APPLICATOR FOR MOBILE USE
