Catheter, a coupling component for coupling the catheter to tubes, an apparatus including the rectal catheter, and a method of manufacturing the catheter

A catheter for use with an injection apparatus, preferably for rectal irrigation. The catheter has a main body with a funnel-shaped part delimited by an annular funnel wall which tapers into an elongate tubular catheter part delimited by an annular catheter wall. The main body accommodates at least a liquid flow channel and a fluid flow channel and the liquid flow channel is adapted to expel a liquid via at least one injection opening in a free end of the elongate tubular catheter part opposite the funnel-shaped part. An expandable balloon surrounds an elongate fixation section of the elongate tubular catheter part a distance from its free end, and the fluid flow channel is adapted to, via at least one delivery opening provided in the annular catheter wall of the elongate fixation section of the elongate tubular catheter part, deliver a fluid to the expandable balloon.

Ingestible device for delivery of therapeutic agent to the gastrointestinal tract

A method of treating a disease or condition in a subject in need thereof is disclosed. The method comprising: trans-epithelially administering a dispensable substance to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of the subject by orally administering an ingestible device comprising the dispensable substance to the subject. The ingestible device is configured for trans-epithelial delivery of the dispensable substance to the GI tract of the subject and the dispensable substance comprises a pharmaceutical formulation comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a glucagon receptor agonist or a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. The ingestible device releases the dispensable substance as at least one jet to a desired location of the GI tract of the subject.

Suction stent, stent system, and method for sealing a leakage

A kit including a device for intestinal anastomosis enema in situ, and an anastomosis protection device comprising a flexible external sheath connected to a stent located downstream of the sheath and designed to be anchored upstream of the anastomosis. The enema device has: a perforated, tubular element of annular shape that can distribute an enema composition, upstream of the anastomosis, a supply tube one end of which emerges in the tubular element and one end of which is open to injection means designed to deliver the composition into said tubular element, holding means for the tubular element upstream of the anastomosis.

Multi-purpose balloon catheter for intra cavity radiation delivery

A multi-purpose balloon catheter includes a catheter having a proximal end portion, a central portion and a non-branching distal end portion, a plurality of lumens associated with the catheter extending from the proximal end portion, and a plurality of inflatable balloons positioned in the central portion and/or the non-branching distal end portion. Each of the plurality of inflatable balloons is communicatively associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of lumens, the plurality of inflatable balloons being selectively inflated or deflated to position and stabilize the catheter in a cavity for delivery of a medical treatment. The catheter can include an extraction point associated with a lumen to remove fluids and materials from the cavity, and a connector associated with a corresponding lumen adapted to selectively receive one or more of a fluid medium or a radioactive isotope provided to a corresponding lumen for delivery of the medical treatment.

SUPPOSITORY APPLICATOR
20220265977 · 2022-08-25 ·

Disclosed are implementations of a suppository applicator configured for use in depositing a suppository product in a body cavity, such as the rectum. An example suppository applicator comprises a handle connected to a tool head by an elongate shaft, and a disposable applicator removably attached to the tool head. The disposable applicator is configured to contain a suppository product therein. The example suppository applicator is configured so that rotation of the handle causes the suppository product to be expelled from the disposable applicator. Also disclosed are implementations of an enema dispenser. An example apparatus comprises a handle connected to a tool head by an elongate shaft, and a driving mechanism. The tool head includes an enema dispenser comprising a bottle holder, a piston, and a bottle configured to contain an enema liquid. The driving mechanism is configured to cause the piston to compress the bottle of the enema dispenser when actuated, thereby dispensing a volume of liquid contained in the bottle.
