LIPPED MEDICINAL APPLICATOR
Described is an anal medicinal applicator that generally comprises a base, a medicinal cream receiving port in the base, a shaft and at least one longitudinal slot. The longitudinal slot extending along an axis from the base and terminating at a distal end. The at least one longitudinal slot extending along a portion of the shaft, the receiving port, the shaft and the at least one longitudinal slot defining an unobstructed pathway. The longitudinal slot defined by a leading slot edge, a trailing slot edge, a proximal slot edge, and a distal slot edge, the leading slot edge and the trailing slot edge are longer than the proximal slot edge and the distal slot edge. A lip protrudes from the shaft along at least a portion of the leading slot edge it is configured and arranged to cause a tenting effect of the inner intestinal wall when the anal medicinal applicator is deployed in an anus.
Multi-purpose balloon catheter for intra cavity radiation delivery
A multi-purpose balloon catheter includes a catheter having a proximal end portion, a central portion and a distal end portion, a plurality of lumens associated with the catheter extending from the proximal end portion, and a plurality of inflatable balloons positioned in the central portion and/or the distal end portion. Each of the plurality of inflatable balloons is communicatively associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of lumens, the plurality of inflatable balloons being selectively inflated and deflated to position and stabilize the catheter in a cavity for delivery of a treatment. The catheter can include an extraction point associated with a lumen to remove fluids and material from the cavity, and a connector associated with a corresponding lumen adapted to selectively receive one or more of a liquid saline solution, a fluid medium, or a radioactive isotope provided to a corresponding lumen for delivery of the treatment.
MEDICINAL DISPENSER
Certain embodiments of an anal medicinal applicator that have a non-circular shaped shaft provide enhanced medicinal cream efficacy when applied to a pathologic anal canal. The oblong or non-primarily circular shaped shaft enhances the ability of the shaft to more easily be made to move into the folds and contours in the anal canal thereby more evenly spreading medicinal cream on the full surface of the anal canal. Other envision a generally circular (in cross-section) enlarged dome that helps to keep the medicinal cream in the anal canal. Other embodiments include a medicine blocking ring on the shaft near the handle that prevents the medicinal cream from flowing out of the anus when the anal medicinal applicator is being used.
Portable trans anal irrigation device
A portable trans anal irrigation device has a hand-held water management unit removably connectable to an irrigation arm. The water management unit includes a water cartridge and a controller. The irrigation arm has a cone head for interfacing with the user's body.
Hollow Organ Irrigation Systems
Components for use in hollow organ irrigation systems are provided, including collapsible and expandable liquid reservoirs, self-supporting liquid containers for liquid reservoirs, and retaining elements for rectal catheters, which may be inflatable or un-inflatable.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR AEROSOLIZED DELIVERY OF SUBSTANCE TO A NATURAL ORIFICE OF THE BODY
The present invention provides a device for delivering a predetermined volume of a substance, within at least one body cavity of a subject, comprising a predefined volume for containing the predetermined volume of the at least one substance; a delivery end for placement in proximity to the body cavity; the delivery end comprises at least one orifice of diameter D [mm]; a valve mechanically connectable to the container, characterized by at least two configurations: (i) an active configuration in which the valve enables delivery of predetermined amount M.sub.sub of the substance; and, (ii) an inactive configuration, in which the valve prevents delivery of the predetermined amount M.sub.sub of the substance from the container to the body cavity; and a fluid tight chamber configured to contain predetermined volume V.sub.gas of pressurized gas at a predetermined pressure, P.sub.gas.
MULTI-PURPOSE BALLOON CATHETER FOR INTRA CAVITY RADIATION DELIVERY
A multi-purpose balloon catheter includes a catheter having a proximal end portion, a central portion and a non-branching distal end portion, a plurality of lumens associated with the catheter extending from the proximal end portion, and a plurality of inflatable balloons positioned in the central portion and/or the non-branching distal end portion. Each of the plurality of inflatable balloons is communicatively associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of lumens, the plurality of inflatable balloons being selectively inflated or deflated to position and stabilize the catheter in a cavity for delivery of a medical treatment. The catheter can include an extraction point associated with a lumen to remove fluids and materials from the cavity, and a connector associated with a corresponding lumen adapted to selectively receive one or more of a fluid medium or a radioactive isotope provided to a corresponding lumen for delivery of the medical treatment.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING CONTAMINANTS IN A PORTION OF A PATIENT
Systems and methods for reducing pathogens near an implant are discussed. In some cases, the methods include reducing contaminants in a portion of a patient that has an implant and that is disposed interior to a closed surface of skin of the patient. The method can further include placing a conduit in the closed surface of skin and flowing an antimicrobial fluid into that portion of the patient to contact the antimicrobial fluid with a surface of the implant and tissue adjacent to the implant. In some cases, the antimicrobial fluid is then removed from the portion of the patient having the implant. As part of this method, biofilm near the implant can be mechanically, ultrasonically, electrically, chemically, enzymatically, or otherwise disrupted. Other implementations are described.
BODY CAVITY IRRIGATION SYSTEM CONTROLLER
A controller for a body cavity irrigation system, where the system features a reservoir containing an irrigation liquid and a catheter, includes a housing with a dial attached to the housing and movable between positions corresponding to stages of a body cavity irrigation procedure. The controller is in communication with an electromechanical pump and at least one electromechanical valve that are in fluid communication with the reservoir and the catheter so that the electromechanical pump and at least one electromechanical valve are configured to perform a stage of the body cavity irrigation procedure corresponding to the selected dial position.
WASH, CLEAN AND DRY SYSTEM WITH REMOVABLE SPRAY CANISTER DEVICE
A method and a wash, clean and dry system are provided for washing, cleaning and drying a surface region of a human body. The system includes a toilet seat assembly with a bidet assembly having a spray canister device for spraying the surface region with a solution, such as a skin protecting barrier solution, a cleaning solution or a medicated solution. In one aspect, the spray canister device can be movably insert into and out of the toilet seat assembly and is easy to operate and use. In addition, the bidet assembly further includes a spray nozzle assembly and a drying nozzle assembly, which are adapted to wash, clean and dry the region of the human body in three dimensional moments. The removable spray canister device with the removable sleeved cover element is thus easy to carry and be re-filled with new solutions.
