Method and apparatus for rectal anaesthesia

A system and method for delivering a medicament including a catheter configured for implantation in different target tissue sites, extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and having a sidewall which defines an internal lumen. The distal end has one or more apertures in the sidewall for the release of the medicament into the target tissue site; the system also comprises a medicament reservoir fluidly communicable with the internal lumen of each catheter, an adhesive member configured to adhere to the skin of the patient around the exit wound and having an opening therein to allow the catheters to pass through the adhesive member and a retaining member configured to be overlaid on the adhesive member and comprising a guide surface configured to receive a length of the two or more catheters and a plurality of retaining portions to retain the catheters against the guide surface.

FECAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Fecal management methods and apparatuses (e.g., devices, systems, etc.) are described herein. The fecal management apparatuses may apply one or more fecal removal cycles of suction and irrigation (and in some examples air) to actively remove fecal material. The apparatus may control the timing of delivery of the fecal removal cycles as well as the parameters of the applied suction, irrigation and/or air within and between fecal removal cycles. The invention additionally provides methods, and computer program products for controlling an apparatus or system that is configured for removal of fecal material from a patient's rectum.

Dual double balloon catheter

A dual double balloon catheter includes a catheter having a proximal end portion, a central portion and a distal end portion, and a secondary treatment balloon for a catheter. The catheter includes a plurality of lumens within the catheter extending from the proximal end portion, a plurality of inflatable balloons positioned in the central portion and a secondary treatment balloon communicatively associated with the distal end portion of the catheter, and the balloons and the secondary treatment balloon being communicatively connected with a corresponding one of the plurality of lumens to selectively inflate/deflate the corresponding inflatable balloon or to receive a radioactive dose or a therapeutic agent for a treatment.

The utility model relates to rectally installed devices for intestinal gases drainage. User comfort is improved due to the fact that the device for silent removal and collection of intestinal gases is made in the form of a hollow oblong housing with two collar projections, proximal and distal, on the outer surface of the oblong housing, between which there is a window connected in the flowing medium with the outlet; there is a stop at the outlet. The window may consist of several inlets located circumferentially between the collar protrusions; there are drainage grooves on the outer side of the distal collar protrusion.

Trans anal irrigation platform with bed module

A trans anal irrigation device that can be used on a bed. The device includes a rectal catheter connected to an irrigation fluid supply. A waste collection bag is also connected to the catheter. The catheter may be insertable in a seat attached to a fluid supply line. A valve in one of the catheter or seat selectably allows or prevents fluid communication between the catheter and a waste collection bag. The catheter may include an inflationless cuff made of a flexible material that permits it to be inserted in the rectum to prevent leakage around the exterior of the catheter.

Transanal irrigation device and system

A device for performing transanal irrigation includes an elongated neck having a proximal end and a flushing liquid channel passing therethrough. In a system including the device, the flushing liquid channel communicates with a source of flushing liquid. An insert is positioned on the proximal end of the neck of the device and is inserted into a body cavity of a user. The insert has a flushing liquid opening that is in fluid communication with the flushing liquid channel of the neck. A control housing is connected to the neck of the device and contains a pump. Pressurized flushing liquid flows through the device channel and exits through the flushing liquid opening of the insert when the pump is activated. A pair of support arms are attached to the device neck and rest on a sitting user's legs with the insert positioned below a body cavity of the user.

A surgical stapler apparatus or assembly comprises a surgical stapler device having an internal channel extending from a stapler actuating handle to a stapler head of the device and a gas insufflation device having a pressurized gas supply connected to the internal channel of the stapler device via an inlet port at a handle portion intersecting with the channel in order to supply pressurized gas to the channel as the stapler shaft is inserted into the lumen of a colon, rectum or the like. Pressurized gas travels along the channel and out of the stapler head at the distal end of the stapler device in order to inflate the lumen ahead of the advancing stapler head, easing insertion.

APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUSLY REMOVING GAS THROUGH A NATURAL OR ARTIFICIAL OPENING IN THE BODY OF A PATIENT
20220354684 · 2022-11-10 ·

The present invention relates to an apparatus for removing, in a manner that is as odor-free as possible, intestinal gas or other malodorous gases as part of a system for the closed, preferably continuous, removal and/or collection of stools or other strongly odor-forming excretions or secretions from the human or animal body, wherein the stool or the removed excretions or secretions are guided outside the body through a hose-like or tube-like structure which, in addition to an inflow port and an outflow port and a passage region that connects said ports and is intended for the passage of stool or other excretions or secretions, has a branch where intestinal gas or other malodorous gases are separated from the stool or the other excretions or secretions and are conducted through an adsorption and/or filter device to an outlet, wherein at least some regions of the adsorption and/or filter device are spaced apart from the passage region in order to prevent, as far as possible, close contact with the stool or other excretions or secretions flowing through the passage region.
