A digital interpolation filter delivering a series of output samples approximating a signal x(t) at sampling instants of the form (n+d)T s based on a series of input samples of the signal x(t) taken at sampling instants of the form nT s. Such a filter implements a transfer function in the Z-transform domain, H c<i/>d (Z−1), expressed as a linear combination between: a first transfer function H 1 d<i/>(Z−1) representing a Lagrange polynomial interpolation of the input samples implemented according to a Newton structure (100); and a second transfer function H 2 d (Z−1) representing another polynomial interpolation of the input samples implemented according to another structure comprising at least the Newton structure; the linear combination being a function of at least one real combination parameter c.

Vehicle self-localization using particle filters and visual odometry

Methods and systems herein can let an autonomous vehicle localize itself precisely and in near real-time in a digital map using visual place recognition. Commercial GPS solutions used in the production of autonomous vehicles generally have very low accuracy. For autonomous driving, the vehicle may need to be able to localize in the map very precisely, for example, within a few centimeters. The method and systems herein incorporate visual place recognition into the digital map and localization process. The roadways or routes within the map can be characterized as a set of nodes, which can be augmented with feature vectors that represent the visual scenes captured using camera sensors. These feature vectors can be constantly updated on the map server and then provided to the vehicles driving the roadways. This process can help create and maintain a diverse set of features for visual place recognition.

SCALABLE FIR FILTER

The FIR Matrix is coupled to the pre-processing section and the post-processing section. The FIR Matrix includes a plurality of filter taps and a plurality of signal paths. Each filter tap of the plurality of filter taps has at least a first input, a second input, a multiplexer coupled to the first input and the second input, and a first flip-flop coupled to an output of the multiplexer. The plurality of signal paths are arranged to allow re-configurable data throughput between the each filter tap of the plurality of filter taps.

Noise Reduction Filter for Signal Processing

A noise reduction filter for data signals is implemented using two orthogonal coordinates comprising intensity and differential intensity values generated from sampling and sorting the data signals. A weighting function is used to amplify or reduce different portions of a data set distribution generated using the intensity and differential intensity values. The weighting function may also include scalar constants to further enhance the capability of the noise reduction filter. The noise reduction filter can be used to reduce the noise components or increase the useful signal components of a noisy data signal, thereby increasing the signal-to-noise ratio, and also increasing spectral resolution. The noise reduction filter can also be used in special cases where the intensity and frequency spectra of the noisy data signal are overlapping. The noise reduction filter may be used in various applications including spectroscopy and image processing, among others.
