A computer system is configured to present an individual having Alzheimer's disease or other form of dementia by stimulating the individual's brain using one or both of sensory stimulation and an electrical current. The individual's brain may be stimulated while the individual is awake, or asleep. In situations where the individual is asleep, the computer system may also determine the individual's sleep-stage. Stimulating the individual's brain induces gamma frequency activity in the individual's brain. The gamma frequency activity is captured and used to provide real-time feedback in a loop to the user regarding their brain's oscillatory activity to enhance the entrainment of the gamma frequency by the sensory stimulation and/or the electrical current.

Remote monitoring and updating of a medical device control unit

A medical device control unit is provided. The control unit may include a communications interface, a memory, and at least one processing device. The processing device may be configured to cause application of a control signal to a primary antenna associated with a unit external to a subject's body. The processing device may further be configured to monitor a feedback signal indicative of the subject's breathing and store, in the memory, information associated with the feedback signal. The processing device may also cause transmission of the stored information, via the communications interface, to a location remote from the control unit. The processing device may further be configured to receive an update signal, from the location remote from the control unit, and cause application of an updated control signal to the primary antenna based on the update signal.

Method of searching optimal zones for electropulse therapy (variants)

The group of inventions relates to medicine (physiotherapy). Electric stimuli which are generated by the following ringing circuit: active electrodeinductive storage unitpassive electrodeinterelectrode tissuesactive electrode, contain oscillations which are used as a test signal. In one variant of the method the electrodes are successively applied (in another variantmoved uniformly) across the skin area. Every time the electrodes-to-skin contact is detected, the oscillation parameters are recorded after a delay. Moreover, the values of parameters can be averaged. The group of invention provides the use of both combined and disjointed (separated) electrodes. An optimal zone for electropulse therapy is identified by minimal or maximal value of one or more parameters of the aforementioned oscillations and the use of the principle of small asymmetry. The group of inventions provides an increase in the accuracy with which zones optimal for electropulse therapy are identified and localized.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPROVED PHYSICAL REHABILITATION OF PATIENTS WITH IMPAIRED MOBILITY
20190358106 · 2019-11-28 ·

The present disclosure provides apparatus and method for improving rehabilitation of patients with limited mobility. The apparatus comprises a foam block, with a plurality of foam support pylons thereon, creating a nearly planar top cut according to the support pylons. The foam support pylons have the desirable effect of mitigating pressure and blood pooling at undesirable sites on the patient's body. The method comprises creating such a foam block and placing it under the patient's body in the patient's bed. The support pylons may have sensors or be capable of receiving changes to their physical structure to further facilitate rehabilitation. This can be achieved using electrical wires running through trenches between the support pylons.

SYSTEM AND METHODS TO MODULATE AN ELECTRIC FIELD IN AN ENVIRONMENT
20190329021 · 2019-10-31 ·

A system and methods are provided for simulating a fair weather electric field in an environment to promote the well-being of a subject. A converter provides a DC output to generate a DC electric field in between positive and negative electrodes in an environment, where the positive electrode is proximal to a positive part of a subject and the negative electrode is proximal to a negative part of the subject. An electric field detector measures and transmits data about the strength of the actual electric field in the environment. A microprocessor receives the data and compares the information to the parameters of a fair weather electric field to direct the function of a pulse width modulator, modulate the DC output and thereby simulate the fair weather electric field in real-time. Means are provided for filtering out over-voltages, pulses and over-currents to ensure the controlled modulation of the DC electric field.
