The lighting fixture produces emitted spectra, wherein one portion of the emitted spectra serves visual perception and at least one portion of the emitted spectra is selected from the group consisting of 290-315 nm; 360-400 nm; 470-490 nm; and 600-1400 nm.

Method for Treating Cancerous and Pre-Cancerous Skin

The present disclosure provides a method for treating clinical or pre-clinical skin damage in a skin field of a subject, wherein the skin field has been allocated a skin cancerization field index (SCFI) score of at least 1 as determined by a process comprising the steps of: (i) assessing the number of keratoses in the skin field; (ii) assessing the thickness of the thickest keratosis in the skin field; and (iii) assessing the proportion of the field affected by clinical or subclinical skin damage. Based on the assessments made in (i), (ii) and (iii) the subject is optionally treated by at least one of (a) freezing one or more lesions, (b) shaving, curetting or surgically removing one or more lesions, (c) applying a topical treatment for actinic keratosis, basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma, and (d) radiation therapy.

A light therapy bed including multiple LEDs positioned in individually controllable modules is disclosed. The modules of LEDs are configured to have direct contact or in close proximity to the skin or tissue of the user, through an acrylic or similar cover. The LEDs light the surface and underlying layers of tissue for photodynamic stimulation of the cells. Iterations of the device utilize light known to have a bactericidal effect in the case of acne, MRSA, etc. The bed is fabricated and formed in a curved configuration to optimize contact between the LEDs and the skin of a user. Each of the LED modules may be mounted with a PCB in an arrangement to provide even lighting and temperature upon the skin or tissue surface of a user. Each module also has one or more thermal sensors that evenly and quickly heat all of the areas of a user's body.

A product for use in treating a subject, incorporating a light-conversion medium which receives ambient light of broad spectrum, and emits light at one or more peak wavelengths or ranges of wavelengths (λ1, λ2, λ3) having greater intensity than corresponding intensity in the received broad spectrum ambient light. The products outlined are specifically designed for skin treatments of many different kinds, where the wavelengths chosen to have therapeutic or enhancing effects to the biological processes that occur inside or that directly affect the skin. The products can either exist as a unique treatment or be coupled with existing treatments in order to achieve an improved or differentiating result.

Device for targeted treatment of dermatoses
11471695 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A device that is connectable to a phototherapy apparatus for applying targeted phototherapy to an area of skin to place a skin condition into remission and a method of determining a maximum tolerable dose of phototherapy applied to a treatment area to determine an optimum therapeutic dose to quickly place a skin condition into remission. The dosimetry device can include a housing and an optical matrix arranged within the housing. The optical matrix includes a plurality of at least one of absorptive, reflective and/or partially transmissive regions that each permits a different percentage of light to be delivered to an individual's skin. An assessment can then be made as to the maximum tolerable dose of phototherapy that can be applied to the individual's skin in order to place a skin condition into remission.

The skin therapy device combines the mechanical stimulation and cleansing in the form of vibration with optical stimulation from LEDs. The device combines these two elements without sacrificing the effectiveness of either the mechanical cleansing/stimulation or optical stimulation by passing the light through the mechanical elements that are in contact with the skin. The light from the LEDs does not pass around the mechanical elements, such as around opaque brush fibers, but passes through the mechanical elements.

Light-based skin treatment device

According to the invention, there is provided a light-based skin treatment device comprising a treatment light source; a treatment light exit window via which, during operation, treatment light generated by the treatment light source is applied to skin of a user, wherein the treatment light exit window comprises an optically transparent material arranged to contact the skin during operation; and an imaging unit comprising an image sensor 5 arranged to generate an image of the skin during operation. The skin treatment device further comprises an optical waveguide comprising a treatment light receiving surface, an imaging light exit surface and a main surface, wherein said treatment light receiving surface is arranged to receive the treatment light so that the treatment light enters the waveguide at the treatment light receiving surface; said main surface comprises the treatment light exit 10 window and is arranged to transmit the treatment light so that the treatment light exits the waveguide at the treatment light exit window; said imaging light exit surface is arranged with respect to the main surface to receive light reflected at the main surface by total internal reflection at positions where, during operation, no skin is in contact with the main surface; said image sensor is arranged to receive from the imaging light exit surface light which is 15 guided by total internal reflection from the main surface towards the imaging light exit surface.
