NEONATAL CARE SYSTEM WITH SLING SLEEP DEVICE

A bassinette for a neonatal care system includes a frame structure with at least one vertical a support member extending downward from a top support member. A sling is suspended from the top support member and configured to support a neonate. The sling comprises a pressure-diffusing netting material extending from a top end to a bottom end between opposing lateral sides. A heating coil may be configured to heat the neonate supported on the sling, and a sling controller may be secured to the frame and configured to selectively control the heating coil to heat the neonate. Additionally, a plurality of stretchable conductive electrodes may extend through the pressure-diffusing netting material and may be configured to acquire physiological signals from the neonate. The stretchable conductive electrodes may be configured to communicate the physiological signals from the plurality of conductive electrodes to a sling controller.

LIGHT GENERATION AND DISTRIBUTION METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DISINFECTION, MEDICAL THERAPEUTICS, AND LIGHTING

A light generation and light distribution method. The method includes generating laser light with a semiconductor laser or an array of semiconductor lasers at a generation location. Light generated by the semiconductor laser is guided to a frequency converter. Light converted by the frequency converter is directed to a plurality of distribution locations. The distribution locations can be remote or local. A light generation and light distribution system includes a semiconductor laser or array of lasers at a generation location. A frequency-conversion optical component modifies the wavelength of the radiation generated by the semiconductor laser to one or more desired wavelengths for disinfection, medical therapy, photochemical processes, and/or lighting. Light extraction and distribution optical components extract from the distribution system a portion of the light in the system so as to provide for one or more of disinfection, medical therapies, general or background lighting, and photochemical processes.

A photo-treatment device includes a non-opaque treatment substrate and a radiation-collector beside the substrate. The substrate is sized for a person at which radiation is to be emitted from above the substrate. The substrate has a front surface for receiving the person thereon and a back surface. The radiation-collector captures excess radiation peripheral to the substrate and redirects the excess radiation to the back surface of the substrate.

A METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REAL TIME MONITORING AND PREDICTION OF BILIRUBIN LEVELS AND ASSOCIATED NOTIFICATIONS IN NEONATES

A phototherapy monitoring device (10) includes a housing (12) configured for attachment to a patient, and a user interfacing device. An optical bilimbin sensor (14) includes one or more light sources (16) operative to generate probe light and arranged on or in the housing such that the probe light is reflected from or transmitted through skin of the patient when the housing is attached to the patient; and one or more photodetectors (18) arranged on or in the housing to detect the probe light reflected from or transmitted through the skin of the patient. At least one electronic processor (28) is disposed on or in the housing and programmed to: continuously generate a current bilimbin level measurement from the detected probe light reflected from or transmitted through the skin of the patient; and control the user interfacing device to generate a notification when the current bilirubin level measurement satisfies a safe bilimbin level.

A phototherapy device includes a blanket for use in phototherapy treatment that integrates a light emitting panel and a light receiver such that the amount of treatment light delivered to the infant patient can be determined. The light emitting panel includes a plurality of woven optical fibers that each receive treatment light from a light source. A second plurality of receiving optical fibers are woven into the light emitting panel. A reflective element is positioned on the light emitting panel to reflect a portion of the therapy light into the light receiver. A light detector determines the intensity of the treatment light being delivered to the infant patient during phototherapy.
