Enhanced device interaction

A method of enhanced interaction between a first computing device and a second computing device is described. A first channel for connection between the first computing device and the second computing device using a short range communication technology and a second channel for communication between the first computing device and the second computing device using a communication technology are established. A first interaction is performed using the first channel and an additional interaction is performed using the second channel. Suitable first and second computing devices are also described.

Method for synchronizing an active load modulation clock within a transponder, and corresponding transponder

A transponder communicates with a reader using active load modulation. The transponder includes a digital phase locked loop (DPLL), which, in operation, generates an active load modulation (ALM) carrier clock synchronized to carrier clock of the reader. Between transmission of data frames, the DPLL is placed in a lock mode of operation in which a feedback loop of the DPLL is closed. Within a transmitted data frame having a duration, the DPLL is placed, for the duration of the transmitted data frame, in a hold mode of operation in which the feedback loop is opened. A phase of the ALM carrier clock is adjusted at least once during the duration of the transmitted data frame.

Smartphone case

A smartphone case that enables millimeter-wave band communication to be robust in terms of connection stability is provided. The smartphone case is to be removably attached to a smartphone and includes one or more millimeter-wave band communication antennas associated with a communication circuit for carrying out millimeter-wave band communication. This configuration offers a high degree of flexibility in the layout of the one or more millimeter-wave band communication antennas, with the performance of a 5G communication system being fully exploited.

According to one embodiment, a memory system includes a nonvolatile memory and a controller. When power supply is started with respect to the controller, the controller reads file allocation data indicative of an allocation position of a file stored in the nonvolatile memory from the nonvolatile memory, generates information indicating that the controller is permitted to read a system file stored in the nonvolatile memory, and generates information indicating that the controller is not permitted to read a first user file already written in the nonvolatile memory before the power supply, and generates information indicating that the controller is permitted to read a second user file written in the nonvolatile memory after the start of the power supply.

Wireless wearables and related systems and methods

Disclosed herein are wireless wearables and related systems and methods. The wireless wearables are devices worn by a user (and/or attached to clothing and/or accouterments of a user) and are configured to receive and send data based on one or more wireless communication technologies, such as for authentication for a variety of purposes. The wearables may include, by non-limiting examples: rings (finger rings and/or toe rings), necklaces, earrings, piercings, clasps, watch bands, charms, cuff links, pins or clip elements attachable to clothing, pins or clip elements attachable to a bill of a hat, and clip or magnetic elements attachable to glasses (eyeglasses, sunglasses, virtual reality glasses, augmented reality glasses, and so forth).

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY
20200358480 · 2020-11-12 ·

A method of communicating between a first electronic communication device of a plurality of electronic communication devices and a wireless communication initiating device for reading the first electronic communication device. The method comprises receiving, at the first electronic communication device, a communication signal from the wireless communication initiating device and determining a first characteristic value relating to the communication signal. The method further comprises receiving at least a second characteristic value relating to a communication signal received by at least a second electronic communication device that is connected to the first electronic communication device and initiating communication with a reading device based on the first and second value.

METHOD FOR COMPENSATING FOR A PHASE SHIFT BETWEEN THE SIGNAL EMITTED BY AN OBJECT AND THAT RECEIVED FROM A READER EQUIPPED WITH AN ENVELOPE DETECTOR AND CORRESPONDING OBJECT

According to the present invention, the communication mode can be prevented from changing when re-authentication is performed. To achieve this, a power supply apparatus that wirelessly supplies power to an electronic device, comprises a communicating unit that contactlessly transmits power and transmits/receives information, a holding unit that holds, when authentication is first performed with an electronic device via the communicating unit, information indicating a communication mode when communication is established with the electronic device, and a controlling unit that controls the communicating unit so as to perform communication in a communication mode based on the information held in the holding unit, when a second authentication is performed with the electronic device via the communicating unit.
