DIGITIZED VOICE ALERTS
Methods, systems and processor-readable media for providing instant/real-time voice alerts automatically to remote electronic devices. An activity can be detected utilizing one or more sensors. A text message indicative of the activity can be generated and converted into a digitized voice alert. The activity can also be a live utterance (e.g., a live announcement), which can then be instantly converted into a digitized voice alert for automatic delivery in a selected series of languages following the base language (e.g., English). The combined digitized voice alert can then be instantly transmitted through a network for broadcast of consecutive alerts (e.g., English followed by Spanish followed by Vietnamese, etc.) to one or more remote electronic devices that communicate with the network for an automatic audio announcement of the digitized voice alert through the one or more remote electronic devices.

A method for delivering data in a digital transmitter including generating service layer signaling (SLS) information comprising information for discovery and acquisition of at least one content component: generating service list table (SLT) information including bootstrap information for acquiring the SLS information; encapsulating the at least one content component, the SLS information and the SLT information via UDP/IP; and transmitting a broadcast signal comprising the at least one content component, the SLS information and the SLT information.

The method generally includes receiving a public warning system (PWS) message, wherein the PWS message includes information associated with at least one program provided via a multimedia service, and retrieving the at least one program via the multimedia service based on the information indicated in the PWS message.

A transmitter for transmitting payload data and emergency information using data symbols in a single-carrier or multi-carrier broadcast system comprises a modulator configured to modulate one or more transmission symbols with signaling data for use in detecting and recovering the payload data at a receiver and to modulate one or more transmission symbols with the payload data. An emergency information receiver receives emergency information carrying information of an actual emergency. An emergency information embedder embeds emergency information into one or more transmission symbols, wherein the emergency information is embedded within a predetermined time period after its reception by using a resource used for carrying signaling data and/or payload data if no emergency information shall be transmitted. A transmission unit transmits the transmission symbols.

A transmitter for transmitting payload data and emergency information using data symbols in a single-carrier or multi-carrier broadcast system comprises a modulator configured to modulate one or more transmission symbols with signaling data for use in detecting and recovering the payload data at a receiver and to modulate one or more transmission symbols with the payload data. An emergency information receiver receives emergency information carrying information of an actual emergency. Efficient rendezvous for distributed messages in frequency-hopping communication networks
In one embodiment, a rendezvous request message is generated (e.g., by a sender) that specifies a channel C and a rendezvous time T for which a distributed message is to be transmitted in a frequency-hopping computer network. The rendezvous request message is then transmitted on one or more channels used in the computer network based on reaching a plurality of intended recipients of the distributed message with the rendezvous request message prior to rendezvous time T. Accordingly, the distributed message is then transmitted on channel C at rendezvous time T. In another embodiment, a device receives a rendezvous request message, and in response to determining to honor the rendezvous request message, listens for the distributed message on channel C at rendezvous time T.
