METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PERFORMING CELL SEARCH IN A MILLIMETER WAVE (MMWAVE) BASED COMMUNICATION NETWORK
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5.sup.th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system that supports higher data rates beyond 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) communication systems. In particular, one or more embodiments relate to methods and systems for performing cell search in a millimeter wave (mmWave) based communication network. A method disclosed herein includes selecting a subset of receive (Rx) beams from a plurality of Rx beams and scheduling a scan order for the selected subset of Rx beams, upon receiving a plurality of signals from a Base Station. The method also includes performing a cell search using the selected subset of Rx beams individually in the determined scan order. The method further includes combining two or more of the selected Rx beams, upon failing the cell search using the selected subset of Rx beams individually. The method further includes performing the cell search using the combined Rx beams.
COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
A communication method and apparatus, to help improve efficiency of identifying a fake base station. The method includes: A terminal device receives configuration information sent by a network device, and then simultaneously measures, based on the configuration information, a channel state information-reference signal CSI-RS and a synchronization signal block SSB that are sent by a cell. When determining that a measurement result of the CSI-RS and a measurement result of the SSB of the cell satisfy a preset condition, the terminal device reports a measurement report to the network device, where the measurement report includes identification information of the cell, so that the network device identifies a fake base station.
Method and device for transreceiving discovery reference signal in wireless access system supporting unlicensed band
A method for receiving a discovery reference signal (DRS) by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system for supporting an unlicensed band, includes receiving the DRS in at least one subframe included in a discovery measurement timing configuration (DMTC) period, and receiving a multimedia broadcast multicast service single frequency network (MBSFN) configuration, wherein the MBSFN configuration is not applied to the at least one subframe.
Method and apparatus for receiving system information in the wireless communication
The present invention discloses a method for a user equipment to receive system information in a wireless communication system. Particularly, the method is characterized in detecting a first synchronization signal block configured with a Primary Synchronization Signal (PSS), a Secondary Synchronization Signal (SSS) and a Physical Broadcasting Channel (PBCH) at a specific frequency position, determining a presence or non-presence of system information corresponding to the first synchronization signal block within a first synchronization raster corresponding to a specific frequency position based on a system information indicator included in the PBCH, and if the system information corresponding to the first synchronization signal block is determined as not existing, determining a second synchronization raster having system information exist therein based on the system information indicator.
CELL SEARCH METHOD, CHIP, AND MOBILE TERMINAL
A cell search method, a chip, and a mobile terminal are provided in the disclosure, which relates to the field of mobile terminal technology. The method includes the following. A network service state of a mobile terminal is determined according to a signal measurement value of a serving cell where the mobile terminal camps. A cell search for the mobile terminal is initiated when the network service state is a near-interrupted state, where the near-interrupted state is a state between a normal service state and an interrupted service state.
Techniques for unified synchronization channel design in new radio
Various aspects described herein relate to techniques for synchronization channel design and signaling in wireless communications systems (e.g., a 5th Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) system). In an aspect, a method includes identifying a frequency band supported by a user equipment (UE), identifying one or more frequency locations based on the identified frequency band, and the one or more frequency locations are a subset of synchronization raster points used for synchronization signal transmission. The method further includes searching for at least one synchronization signal based on the one or more identified frequency locations.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INDICATION OF SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNAL BLOCK
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for generating information indicating a synchronization signal (SS) block. A method comprises: determining a frequency resource associated with a wireless device; determining, by a base station and based on the determined frequency resource, whether to add or omit a first bitmap indicating a plurality of groups in which at least one synchronization signal (SS) block is transmitted: generating, based on the determining to add the first bitmap, system information comprising a parameter comprising: the first bitmap; and a second bitmap indicating a position of one or more transmission SS blocks in each of the plurality of groups; and transmitting, based on the position, the one or more transmission SS blocks each comprising a Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) and a synchronization signal.
TECHNIQUES AND APPARATUSES FOR DOWNLINK CONTROL CHANNEL DESIGN USING A TOP TO BOTTOM SEARCH SPACE
User equipment associated with a legacy network may utilize a bottom-to-top search technique to identify relevant control channel samples. Generating a control channel that is configured for the bottom-to-top search technique may lead to poor performance in a single-carrier waveform, which may be disadvantageous as networks move toward New Radio. In some aspects, described herein, a base station generates a control channel that is configured to minimize gaps in the control channel, and a user equipment performs a top-to-bottom search technique to identify relevant control channel samples. By using the top-to-bottom search technique, degradation of single-carrier waveforms is reduced and efficiency is improved.
