SOUND MASKING IN OPEN-PLAN SPACES USING NATURAL SOUNDS
A system, method and program product for generating sound masking in an open-plan space. A method is disclosed that includes: establishing a set of acoustic criteria for the space that specifies minimum output levels at a set of specified frequencies; mixing sound samples to create an audio output stream for use as sound masking when broadcast over at least one speaker using a power amplifier; and processing the audio output stream, wherein the processing includes: analyzing the audio output stream with a spectrum analyzer to determine if the minimum output levels at the set of specified frequencies are met; and level adjusting the audio output stream with an equalizer to ensure that minimum output levels at the set of specified frequencies are met but do not exceed a given threshold above the minimum level.
Wireless sound-emitting device and system for remotely controlling a sound-emitting device
A wireless sound-emitting device includes a housing adapted to be coupled to a wall at a source of electric power, a loudspeaker positioned at a periphery of the housing, a control module outputting an electric audio signal to the at least one loudspeaker, and a wireless communications module in electrical communication with the control module. The loudspeaker emits acoustic signals in a direction parallel to the wall, when the housing is coupled to the wall, with the acoustic signals reflecting off the wall. The device may produce a sound masking noise or play a sound recorded on an internal memory. The device may include an electric plug or be adapted to replace an electric outlet faceplate. The device may have electric pass-through outlets and may be powered by the source of electric power. The device may be controlled remotely, for example via an Internet of Things (IoT) platform.
GAME TABLE READING SYSTEM
The game table reading system comprises reading antennas for each of a plurality of reading areas of a game table, read-restriction antennas for each of the plurality of the reading areas, the read-restriction antennas restricting the RFID tag embedded in a game token placed in the corresponding reading area from being read by the reading antenna corresponding to the other adjacent reading areas, a reading control device that controls the reading antennas, and a read-restriction control device that controls the read-restriction antennas. The read-restriction control device causes the read-restriction antennas corresponding to the reading areas adjacent to the reading areas corresponding to the reading antenna that the reading control device causes to read, in synchronization with the reading control device.
ENODEB WITH MASKING FUNCTIONALITY AND AIRCRAFT
A method for masking communication signals, particularly for masking terrestrial RF communication signals on board of an aircraft, includes parallelizing a first information data stream to be transmitted on a first LTE transmission channel. The first LTE transmission channel has a first channel transmission bandwidth and at least one guard band adjacent to the channel transmission bandwidth. The first information data stream is spread over mutually orthogonal data subcarriers within the first channel transmission bandwidth. A CAZAC sequence is generated. The generated CAZAC sequence is spread over guard band subcarriers within the at least one guard band. The first information data stream is transmitted over the data subcarriers in parallel to the CAZAC sequence over the guard band subcarriers.

Sound zone arrangement with zonewise speech suppression
A system and method for arranging sound zones in a room including a listener's position and a speaker's position with a multiplicity of loudspeakers disposed in the room and a multiplicity of microphones disposed in the room. The method includes establishing, in connection with the multiplicity of loudspeakers, a first sound zone around the listener's position and a second sound zone around the speaker's position, and determining, in connection with the multiplicity of microphones, parameters of sound conditions present in the first sound zone. The method further includes generating in the first sound zone, in connection with the multiplicity of loudspeakers, and based on the determined sound conditions in the first sound zone, speech masking sound that is configured to reduce common speech intelligibility in the second sound zone.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROCESSING A GLOBAL NAVIGATION SATELLITE SYSTEM SIGNAL
Disclosed are methods, systems and devices for addressing a jammer signal transmitted by a device that effects a signal received at a receiver. In a particular embodiment, an application content signal is encoded for transmission in a wireless transmission medium to provide symbol content where the symbol content comprises at least some symbols representing the application content signal. A receiver may be selectively blanked synchronized with at least a portion of the symbol content.
System and method for defined area sound masking
In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, a sound masking system is used to produce a sound masking zone in the vicinity of a defined area, for example in an area surrounding a conference room, an area within a medical office, or an area within a place of worship. A screen of loudspeakers around the defined area is used to create the sound masking zone. An indicator light, outside the defined area and unique to the sound masking zone around the defined area, is used to indicate that the sound masking system is active or ramping up.
