CHANNEL FEEDBACK FOR UPDATING MODULATION AND CODING SCHEME
20220399952 · 2022-12-15 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a data message to a user equipment (UE) in a data block modulated according to a modulation and coding scheme (MCS). The UE may monitor for the data block and may attempt to decode the data block. If the UE successfully receives and decodes the data block, the UE may transmit an acknowledgment (ACK) in a feedback message. If the UE unsuccessfully receives or decodes the data block, the UE may transmit a negative acknowledgement (NACK). The UE may transmit the feedback message with the ACK or NACK and a value from a codebook indicating for the base station to increase or decrease the MCS by a delta value for a following transmission or a retransmission.

Apparatus and methods for accomplishing this task include: 1) The inclusion of a locating device in the system, in close proximity to an implanted device, but which does not drain the implanted device battery. The locating device may be implanted or external to the body. 2) The use of motion detection and global positioning system devices to locate elements within a communicating system for the medical device; 3) The assessment of received signal quality by elements of the system; 4) The use of a notification system for a device user who is moving out of range of communications; and 5) Documenting the absolute and functional integrity of instructions received by the medical device.

Systems and methods for retransmission rate selection to support fast moving devices
11522800 · 2022-12-06 · ·

The present disclosure is directed generally to systems and methods for dynamically selecting a retransmission rate for communication between two devices. The retransmission rate may be selected after a transmission has failed between the devices. In some embodiments, the retransmission rate may be selected based on relative velocity of the devices. In some embodiments, the retransmission rate may be selected based on transmission channel characteristics. The retransmission rate may be selected such that the retransmission will be less than an allowable transmission rate based on a distance between the two devices.

DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD, TERMINAL DEVICE AND NETWORK DEVICE

A data transmission method, a terminal device, a network device are provided. In the method, a terminal device performs uplink transmission by using a first Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) level, wherein the first MCS level is one of the MCS levels determined from N MCS levels according to measurement related information of a service cell of the terminal device, and N is an integer greater than or equal to 2.

Antenna SPR as a basis to dynamically cap the MCS index on 5G NR
11516815 · 2022-11-29 · ·

Methods and systems are provided for dynamically capping an MCS index. A determination that one or more user devices are serviced by a sector of a cell site that has a Sector Power Ratio (SPR) above a threshold is made. Based on the SPR being above the threshold, the MCS index of the one or more user devices is capped. In response to the capped MCS index, a first Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) value is assigned to at least one of the one or more user devices based on a triangulation area corresponding to a location of the at least one of the one or more user devices.

Switching Waveforms for Uplink Transmission in NR Network
20220376965 · 2022-11-24 ·

Methods and apparatus are provided for switching a waveform for UL transmissions in a communication network to optimize power usage of the UE. In exemplary embodiments, the UE can use either CP-OFDM waveform or DFT-S-OFDM waveform for UL transmissions. A mechanism is provided to prevent excessive switching in environments where the channel conditions are rapidly changing Further, a signaling mechanism is provided for switching waveforms for UL transmissions using Layer 1 (L1) signaling to reduce the transmission time needed to switch between CP-OFDM and DFT-S-OFDM waveforms.

NETWORK OPTIMIZATION FOR MITIGATION OF CROSSTALK BETWEEN NETWORK LINKS

A network controller receives link metrics for network links on cables between network devices in a communication network. The link metrics include metrics indicative of crosstalk experienced by network links among the network links on cables. The network controller determines, based at least in part on the link metrics, respective link settings for respective network links among the network links. The link settings are determined to mitigate crosstalk experienced by the respective network links as a result of transmission of signals in at least some of the network links at baud rates that correspond to bandwidths that exceed maximum bandwidth ratings of respective cables of the corresponding ones of the network links. The network controller causes configuration of the respective network links based on the link settings to optimize performance across the plurality of network links in the communication network.

Dynamic resizing of a satellite link outroute or forward channel

A satellite communication system and method for resizing an outroute carrier from a gateway to a terminal population including determining, at the gateway, an insufficiency based on an Uplink Power Control (ULPC) function in conjunction with an Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) function failing to maintain the outroute carrier in operation; and downsizing, at the gateway based on the insufficiency, the outroute carrier by decreasing a symbol rate of the outroute carrier from the gateway while maintaining the aggregate carrier output power level to increase an outroute carrier margin, where the insufficiency is based on a fade. The outroute carrier may be upsized when the insufficiency expires or is reduced.

Interface with Variable Data Rate

A device includes a transmitter coupled to a node, where the node is to couple to a wired link. The transmitter has a plurality of modes of operation including a calibration mode in which a range of communication data rates over the wired link is determined in accordance with a voltage margin corresponding to the wired link at a predetermined error rate. The range of communication data rates includes a maximum data rate, which can be a non-integer multiple of an initial data rate.
