For each respective site, the method provides an additional UI for accessing a respective local network manager for the site (i) to modify the global logical network at the respective site and (ii) to configure a local logical network at the respective site. The method provides a UI item for toggling between the first UI and the additional UIs. Multiple UI items available in the first UI are also available in the additional UIs.

A virtual cloud-based operating system facilitates a transparent system call architecture, permitting subscribers to deploy, configure and manage operations at machines operating on different local operating systems. The virtual operating system can canonicalize available resources into a namespace to expose the resources as files at terminals. Asynchronous execution of subscriber commands across a group of target machines is provided with a notification procedure to control bandwidth and resource allocation. A file distribution model without a central controller for a group of target machines is provided to alleviate interaction with the management cluster for file distribution.

On a particular machine at which a particular one of the application instances operates, the method maintains a cluster topology that identifies, for each application instance of the cluster, the datacenter in which the application instance operates. From the particular application instance, the method receives a query request for at least a portion of the cluster topology through a programmatic interface. The method provides the requested portion of the cluster topology to the particular application instance. The particular application instance uses the cluster topology for processing application data based on the locations of a set of application instances within the several datacenters.

Embodiments of the present invention adapt interconnect systems to apply automated rules and analytics to the Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (“AAA”) messages between providers that are handled by the interconnect system. The automated rules and analytics interpret or convert the administrative messages into a measure of technical performance of the visited network in relation to a corresponding home network provider. As part of this process, the system establishes a procedure that matches messages involving a device to be related and produces a data structure and corresponding data that is stored and reflects the performance or other salient data points. The structure of the data is set of extracted and calculated data that is derived from the messages and is assembled to reflect operation at the level of each administrative messaging session, involving a request to the home network provider to join a visited network.
