The present invention relates to a home appliance which can communicate with an outside of the home appliance, an online system including the same and a method for using an online system. According to embodiments of the present invention, a home appliance, an online system and a method for using an online system may be provided, each including a WiFi communication module mounted or connected to the home appliance for supporting a setting mode for making communication connection and a use mode for enabling communication, and a particular input unit provided to run the setting mode by user's selection, wherein the home appliance is changed to the use mode upon reception of SSID (Service Set Identifier; a name of a wireless LAN) information of an access point AP desired to access and user information required for registration of the home appliance through an external terminal after access to the setting mode through the external terminal provided separate from the home appliance.

A system, method, and computer-implemented method for automatically and robustly standardizing electronic equipment identifiers with service profile identifiers in a domain of a unified computing system to better facilitate identification of the physical equipment. A particular domain in a domain list may be accessed, and a service profile identifier list of service profile identifiers and an equipment identifier list of equipment identifiers for the particular domain may be accessed. If a particular equipment identifier assigned to a particular piece of equipment (e.g., a blade server) does not include the particular service profile identifier assigned to that equipment, then the particular equipment identifier is changed to include the particular service profile identifier to facilitate identification of the physical equipment. Each service profile identifier in the particular domain is checked, and the process is repeated for any additional domains. The entire process may be repeated at a regular interval (e.g., nightly).

A network device intercepts, from an application associated with a user space, a request message associated with obtaining information regarding a network state from a kernel. The network device directs the request message to a service daemon of the user space based on intercepting the request message, and determines, using the service daemon, network state information regarding the network state. The network device intercepts, from the service daemon, a response message associated with providing the network state information to the application, and directs an altered response message to the application based on intercepting the response message such that the altered response message identifies the kernel as a source of the response message and not the service daemon as the source of the response message.

A system and method for automating network management includes providing a GUI for receiving a network command to be executed on the network. The results from the execution of the network command are received by a parser including a variable for storing the retrieved information. An analysis routine is received, through the GUI, that analyzes the network based on the information in the variable. The method may include generating a network management application and may include instructions for recursively updating the variable.

A system for constructing and storing procedures for troubleshooting computer networks. A user can design and add troubleshooting steps, via a GUI, to define the procedure including annotations. Each step is configured to take an action on the network. The order of the steps can be re-arranged via the GUI. The procedure can be stored and re-executed by another user.

Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing network management layer configuration management. In some embodiments, a system might determine one or more network devices in a network for implementing a service arising from a service request that originates from a client device over the network. The system might further determine network technology utilized by each of the one or more network devices, and might generate flow domain information (in some cases, in the form of a flow domain network (FDN) object), using flow domain analysis, based at least in part on the determined network devices and/or the determined network technology. The system might automatically configure at least one of the network devices to enable performance of the service (which might include, without limitation, service activation, service modification, fault isolation, and/or performance monitoring), based at least in part on the generated flow domain information.
