A method and apparatus for enhanced multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) ingestion. A network device includes a memory configured to store a memory and one or more processors operably connected to the memory. The one or more processors configured to receive, from a content provider, signaling concerning a payload for MBMS. The one or more processors are further configured to receive, from the content provider, the payload, process the payload based on the signaling, and transmit, to an MBMS gateway, the processed payload.

Operational business service verification system
09736033 · 2017-08-15 · ·

A method and a system are described for providing operational business service verification in a telecommunication network. The method comprises the steps of: (i) receiving information which relates to transactions from a plurality of information sources, wherein the transactions are associated with one or more pre-defined applications; (ii) based upon the information received, determining whether that at least one pre-defined transaction criterion has been met; and (iii) if the at least one pre-defined transaction criterion has been met, providing verification of the legitimacy of the respective transaction that relate to that pre-defined application.

System and method for small batching processing of usage requests

In accordance with various embodiments, systems and methods that provide unified charging across different network interfaces are provided. A system for small batch processing of usage requests, can include a service broker, a plurality of servers wherein each server includes customer data, and a plurality of queues, each associated with a different server. When a usage request is received from a network entity, the service broker is configured to determine an internal ID associated with data requested by the usage request, determine on which particular server of the plurality of servers the data requested by the usage request is stored, enqueue the usage request in a particular queue associated with the particular server, and upon a trigger event, send all requests in the particular queue to the particular server in a batch.

PROVIDING COMMUNICATION SERVICES OF A MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORK TO A PLURALITY OF TELECOMMUNICATION DEVICES
20170230882 · 2017-08-10 ·

A method for providing communication services of a mobile communication network to a plurality of telecommunication devices includes: establishing a connection or initiating an exchange of data between the mobile communication network and the plurality of telecommunication devices; and prior to or upon establishing the connection or initiating the exchange of data, sending service capability information to one or more telecommunication devices of the plurality of telecommunication devices.

Systems and methods for real-time service assurance
09729405 · 2017-08-08 · ·

A system and methods for providing service assurance using real-time monitoring, management and maintenance capabilities to provide customers and vendors with information related to the state of the service. The service assurance domain implements end-to-end functionality with a level of granularity sufficient to diagnose issues to the device and call/session level.

COORDINATING CELLULAR AND CABLE/FIBER BROADBAND NETWORKS
20220311682 · 2022-09-29 ·

Detect, at a cable/fiber broadband network termination unit of a cable/fiber broadband multi-service operator, an interruption in service to a cable/fiber broadband network customer unit—small cell pair. Responsive to detecting the interruption, the termination unit advises a charging server of the operator of the interruption in service, a corresponding identifier of the customer unit—small cell pair, and a corresponding account identifier. Responsive to termination unit advising the charging server, the charging server advises a backend server of an associated cellular network of a customer identifier corresponding to the account identifier. Responsive to the charging server advising the backend server, the backend server advises a policy control function of the associated cellular network to modify network parameters of the associated cellular network to compensate for the interruption in service.

Method and apparatus for dynamically controlling customer traffic in a network under demand-based charging

A method and system for responding to demand-based charging in a communication network, such as a 5G wireless communication network. Service providers and/or infrastructure providers adjust network usage pricing dynamically based on demand. Customers such as Virtual Network operators respond to pricing adjustments by adjusting their network usage, service requirements, and/or by re-negotiating the pricing structure. Network usage can be adjusted by controlling network traffic generated in response to activity of end-user devices of the Virtual Network.

Method for charging data of an application routed on a slice of a communication network

A method for fee-charging data of an application transmitted on a section of a communication network, implemented in a device for accessing the network. The method includes: detecting an activation of the application; transmitting an identification message including information relating to the identification of the application intended for an entity for managing sections of the network; receiving, from the entity for managing sections of the network, a notification message including at least one identifier of a section of the network and of fee-charging parameters associated with the at least one identifier; and, depending on the received message, initializing the fee-charging of the data of the application.

Managing assignments of network slices

Disclosed are various embodiments for managing assignments of network slices. In one embodiment, a request is received to allocate a network slice in a radio-based network having a radio access network and an associated core network to an application connected to the radio-based network. The request specifies a set of quality-of-service constraints required for the network slice. A set of network functions in the radio-based network is configured to implement the network slice.

TRANSPORT SESSION STATE PROTOCOL
20170257284 · 2017-09-07 · ·

One embodiment provides a system that facilitates an efficient transport protocol. During operation, the system receives a first interest which indicates a query for optimal transport parameters, wherein a name for an interest is a hierarchically structured variable length identifier that includes contiguous name components ordered from a most general level to a most specific level, wherein the query is based on a name prefix that includes one or more contiguous name components. The system computes the optimal parameters based on historical information associated with the name prefix. The system transmits a first response which includes the computed optimal parameters to a requesting entity, thereby facilitating a transport protocol which increases network efficiency.
