Flow tagging for service policy implementation

A flow tagging technique includes tagging a data flow at a plurality of points in the data flow. For example, the data flow can be tagged at a socket and at a proxy manager API. By tagging the data flow at multiple points, it becomes possible to map network service usage activities to the appropriate initiating applications.

Method and Apparatus for Licensing Control in a Virtual Network Environment
20210288827 · 2021-09-16 ·

A method for monitoring operation of a network service for the purpose of licensing control in a virtual network environment managed by a Network Functions Virtualisation Management and Orchestration, NFV-MANO, system, is disclosed. The method comprises: defining (202) the network service in a Network Service Descriptor and deploying the network service using at least one Virtual Network Function instance identified in said Network Service Descriptor by instantiating (204) at least one Virtual Network Function Component defined by a Virtualisation Deployment Unit, wherein said Virtualisation Deployment Unit is associated with said Virtual Network Function. The method also comprises recording (206) in a first information field associated with the Network Service Descriptor information indicative of usage of the at least one instantiated Virtual Network Function Component and maintaining (208) a licensing database for storing information indicative of usage of the at least one instantiated Virtual Network Function Component based on records in the first information field.

DATA PROCESSING SYSTEMS FOR FULFILLING DATA SUBJECT ACCESS REQUESTS AND RELATED METHODS

Responding to a data subject access request includes receiving the request and identifying the requestor and source. In response to identifying the requestor and source, a computer processor determines whether the data subject access request is subject to fulfillment constraints, including whether the requestor or source is malicious. If so, then the computer processor denies the request or requests a processing fee prior to fulfillment. If not, then the computer processor fulfills the request.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PERFORMING CHARGING ON NETWORK RESOURCE, AND RELATED DEVICE
20210281997 · 2021-09-09 ·

A method for performing charging on a network resource is provided. The method mainly includes: determining a network slice performance indicator that is used for performing charging on a network slice instance; subscribing to data corresponding to the network slice performance indicator from a network slice management device; and performing charging on the network slice instance based on the data corresponding to the network slice performance indicator. According to the method, a charging result for a customer matches an input of an operator for the network slice instance, to help improve network resource utilization rate and meet diversified network service requirements of an industry customer.

Self-configuration of servers and services in a datacenter

A method and apparatus for allocating server resources to services are provided. Multiple services compete for resources on one or more servers and bid for resources. Servers assign resources based on bids according to an auctioning rule mechanism. Services update bids according to a probabilistic dynamic that can approximate a continuous-time Markov chain, both for each service and for the collection of services. The method and apparatus can involve multiple separate but interacting agents, and can be implemented for example for self-organization of a datacentre. The behaviours of the agents can be configured so that the collective behaviour results in a proportional fair resource allocation.

The disclosure provides a system, methods and a computer program product that facilitate management, distribution, licensing and provisioning of services. The disclosure includes a repository of one or more services wherein the repository can be populated or managed by one or more entities, organizations or individuals. The disclosure also includes a step of associating one or more services with context matching criteria, wherein the criteria can be matched against contextual information associated with environment/activity of a service consumption device and/or end user associated with the service consumption device. The disclosure also includes a step of delivering and/or enabling a subset of services from the repository on a service consumption device when contextual information of the service consumption device or an end user of the service consumption device matches the context matching criteria associated with the subset of services.

Device-Assisted Services for Protecting Network Capacity
20210211316 · 2021-07-08 ·

Device Assisted Services (DAS) for protecting network capacity is provided. In some embodiments, DAS for protecting network capacity includes monitoring a network service usage activity of the communications device in network communication; classifying the network service usage activity for differential network access control for protecting network capacity; and associating the network service usage activity with a network service usage control policy based on a classification of the network service usage activity to facilitate differential network access control for protecting network capacity.

INFRASTRUCTURE RESOURCE SIMULATION MECHANISM

A system to facilitate infrastructure management is described. The system includes one or more processors and a non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause the one or more processors to execute an infrastructure management controller to perform a first simulation of an infrastructure resource configuration to generate a simulated infrastructure resource schematic, receive a request to provide infrastructure resources to the infrastructure resource configuration, perform a second simulation of the infrastructure resource configuration to generate an updated simulated infrastructure resource schematic to include the requested infrastructure management services and generate an infrastructure resource bill of materials based on the updated simulated infrastructure resource schematic, wherein the bill of materials includes a list of resources associated with the requested infrastructure management resources to be provided at one or more on-premise infrastructure controller instances to provide the requested infrastructure management services.
