The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates electronic communication among users. During operation, the system obtains financial data as a set of financial transactions. Upon receiving a request to transmit a message, the system obtains one or more recipient attributes from the request. Next, the system uses the financial transactions to identify a set of recipients that matches the one or more recipient attributes. The system then transmits the message to the set of recipients without revealing the PII for the set of recipients to a creator of the message.

A server or an on-premises computing node accesses a message and a destination tag indicating one or more client devices participating in a conference to receive the message. The server or the on-premises computing node determines a configuration for the message based on a source of the message. The server or the on-premises computing node transmits the message to the one or more client devices indicated in the destination tag to configure the one or more client devices to display the message according to the configuration within a display region associated with the conference.

Content delivery optimization and recommendation is disclosed. A manner of delivering a content object to a mobile device may be determined at least in part by applying a behavior model associated with a user of the mobile device to attributes associated with the content object. The behavior model may be generated based at least in part on observed activities of the user. The content object is provided to the mobile device in the determined manner.

Systems and methods are disclosed for subscribing to messages generated from a plurality of edge devices. One method comprises receiving, at a cloud platform from a plurality of edge devices, a plurality of messages that comply with a common schema and receiving, at the cloud platform from a custom application, an annotation stream request to generate at least one annotation stream and an annotation filter request to generate one or more annotation filters. The at least one annotation stream and the one or more annotation filters are then generated by the cloud platform. Based on the one or more filters, one or more of the plurality of messages are published, by the cloud platform, to the at least one annotation stream.

Method of generating customized avatars based on location information includes processor receiving from first client device location information including a location of the first client device. Processor causes a status interface to be displayed on first client device that includes selectable location items corresponding to locations based on the location information. Processor receives a selection from first client device of first selectable location item and causes avatar selection interface to be displayed on first client device that includes versions of first avatar performing actions related to the first selectable location item. Processor receives selection of first selectable version of the first avatar and generates a map interface that includes a map display based on the location information and the first selectable version of the first avatar. An option is set on a payment card of a card issuer. A request for payment for a transaction is received by a payment server of the card issuer from a merchant device/server. The payment server requests and receives a one-time token based on the option. An authorization indicating payment was successful is sent from the payment server to the merchant device/server with a flag set, the token, and a network address. Merchant device/server identifies the flag obtains the token and sends an e-receipt for the transaction along with the token to the network address. The e-receipt accessible from the network address by a consumer associated with the transaction. Furthermore, the e-receipt is obtained by the consumer without registering personal information or contact information with the merchant, which preserves the anonymity of the consumer with respect to the merchant.
