An occlusion detection system to perform operations that include: capturing image data that depicts an environment at a client device, the environment including a target object at a position within the environment; causing display of a presentation of the environment at the client device, the presentation of the environment including a display of the target object at the position within the environment; detecting a first attribute of the display of the target object at the client device; performing a comparison of the first attribute of the display of the target object and a second attribute associated with the target object; and detecting an occlusion based on the comparison.

Method of dynamically assigning storage locations starts with the processor updating first user's home location data. Processor selects communication session between first user and second user and determines second user's home location data. Processor determines a session location data that indicates current storage location that stores data of communication session received from first and second client devices. Processor identifies available data storage locations based on first user and second user's home location data and determines whether to update the session location data based on an average of a distance over network fiber using the first user and second user's home locations, current storage location, and available storage locations. In response to determining to update the session location data, processor updates session location data to indicate one of the available storage locations, and causes transfer of data of communication session to one of the available storage locations. Methods and systems for curating notifications from unfollowed accounts are described herein. The system tracks that a first account previously followed a second account and subsequently unfollowed the second account. The system identifies an interest of the first account and monitors the activities of the second account for activity that matches the interest. If there is a match between the interest and an activity of the second account, the system notifies the first account of the activity. These methods and systems provide the user with relevant information from unfollowed accounts.

Users of a proximity-based messaging system may be added to one or more proximity-based messaging groups that include users of user devices within an active area for the proximity-based messaging group and/or users meeting other criteria for being added to the group. Proximity-based messaging groups may be associated with events, such as music festivals, concerts, sporting events, and other gatherings and events. The active area of a proximity-based messaging group may correspond to a location of an event, an area surrounding an event, an area within an event location, and the like.

Systems and methods are provided for registering with a given application. The systems and methods include operations for receiving, with a messaging application, a request to authenticate a phone number from the given application, the phone number being input by a user to register an account with the given application; determining that the phone number received in the request matches a user phone number stored in a user account associated with the messaging application; in response to determining that the phone number received in the request matches the user phone number stored in the user account, transmitting a communication from the messaging application to the given application indicating that the phone number has been authenticated; and causing the given application to register the account for the user to enable the user to log into the given application.

A method to communicate a message, the method comprises storing geolocation information pertaining to a user device, the geolocation information identifying a geographic location. A message input request is received at a user device. The stored geolocation information is accessed. Based on the geolocation information, the user device is selectively enabled to generate message content associated with a point of interest, the selective enabling includes presenting a review annotation to the user on a user interface of the user device, the review annotation being modifiable by the user in order to generate the message content to include a modified review annotation.

A method to communicate a message, the method comprises storing geolocation information pertaining to a user device, the geolocation information identifying a geographic location. A message input request is received at a user device. The stored geolocation information is accessed. Based on the geolocation information, the user device is selectively enabled to generate message content associated with a point of interest, the selective enabling includes presenting a review annotation to the user on a user interface of the user device, the review annotation being modifiable by the user in order to generate the message content to include a modified review annotation.
