METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ASSOCIATING USER WITH GROUP
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and a device for associating a user with a group. The method includes: receiving, by a first communications device, a first association request sent by a second communications device, where the first association request includes an identifier of an MCPTT user and identifiers of N MCPTT groups, and N is a positive integer; associating the MCPTT user with M MCPTT groups of the N MCPTT groups according to association subscription information of the MCPTT user; and sending a first association response to the second communications device, where the first association response is used to indicate that the MCPTT user is successfully associated with the M MCPTT groups of the N MCPTT groups, 1MN, and M is an integer. In this way, the MCPTT user is associated with the M MCPTT groups that the MCPTT user is interested in.
Providing data service options using voice recognition
Voice enabling mobile services leverage existing PTT infrastructure. Initiation of a service request and navigation through PTT service functions is accomplished by voice direction, rather than by reading choices and texting or clicking through options. A mobile phone includes a dedicated push-to-talk service button for generating a signal for initiating a voice enabled service session, a speaker and microphone for transducing sounds and electrical signals, a display for displaying visual information to a user, memory for storing data, a transceiver for receiving and transmitting data and a processor. The processor receives a signal generated by the PTT service button for initiating a voice enabled service session, communicates a prompt to a user to begin speaking, stores voice data from a user and transmits the stored voice data to a service server for transforming the voice data to a result satisfying the spoken voice service request.
Voice and text group chat display management techniques for wireless mobile terminals
A single content region in a chat history display is used to display entries representative of a plurality of messages corresponding to all chat histories for all of chat threads currently engaged in by a given mobile terminal. Additionally, a buddy list display supports management of chat buddies, a detail view display allows otherwise truncated messages to be displayed, and a text message editor display supports the composition of text messages. Each chat user may designate public display identifiers for purposes of identification to other chat users. Additionally, each user may designate private display identifiers for each of his/her buddies, which private display identifiers may be used to replace the public display identifiers for that user's buddies when displayed on the user's mobile terminal. In this manner, the use of speech and text based group chatting and similar services in wireless communication environments is more readily enabled.
TRANSMISSION APPARATUS AND METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A transmission apparatus transmits image data divided into a plurality of segments to a reception apparatus. The transmission apparatus includes: a reception unit configured to receive a request for a segment from the reception apparatus; a decision unit configured to decide, based on information associated with the reception apparatus, whether to select a push segment subjected to push transmission to the reception apparatus; a selection unit configured to select, when the decision unit decides to select a push segment based on information associated with the reception apparatus, the push segment based on the information; and a transmission unit configured to transmit data designated by a request received by the reception unit to the reception apparatus and perform push transmission of a push segment selected by the selection unit to the reception apparatus.
VIDEO MANAGEMENT ENABLING VOICE COMMUNICATION GROUPS
Embodiments include a system, method, and computer program product that enable management of a plurality of video feeds with Push to Talk (PTT) communications. Some embodiments monitor a plurality of video feeds using a VMS graphics user interface (GUI) where a video feed of the plurality of video feeds is a video feed component of an interactive multimedia media object (IMMO) displayed in the VMS GUI. A talk group is logically associated with the video feed of the plurality of video feeds. Some embodiments detect that an embedded PTT control component associated with the video feed is activated, and enable PTT communications among members of the talk group and an operator of the VMS.
COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM FOR SPEECH COMMUNICATION
A method and a communications system for speech communication includes a plurality of workstations and a plurality of radio transmission devices and radio receiving devices. There are control units in the signal path between the workstations and the radio transmission devices and the radio receiving devices. The control units select the speech signals of one of the workstations according to predetermined or predeterminable criteria when there is a simultaneous plurality of operating signals of a plurality of workstations, or overlap the speech signals of a plurality of workstations according to predefined criteria, and transmit the speech signal thus obtained, chosen or overlapped for sending on the radio transmission device. Further, the control units transmit a receiving signal to the workstations connected thereto when the speech signals transmitted from the radio receiving unit are present, and transfer the speech signals to said workstations.
DISTRIBUTED CONTROL OF A PUSH-TO-TALK SESSION
In some examples, a first push-to-talk (PTT) client that has access to a wide area network (WAN) performs distributed control for a PTT session in conjunction with distributed control for the PTT session performed by another PTT client in the PTT session, the distributed control by the first PTT client performed without use of any PTT server.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING AUDIO CUT-IN POLICY IN MCPTT COMMUNICATION
The present disclosure provides a method and system for audio cut-in functionality in a mission critical push-to-talk (MCPTT) system. The method includes receiving, by a floor control server, a first floor request message, from a primary floor participant while a floor is granted to a secondary floor participant, applying, by the floor control server, an audio cut-in policy, granting, by the floor control server, the floor to the primary floor participant while terminating a media transmission of the secondary floor participant by revoking the floor from the secondary floor participant, and transmitting, by the floor control server, a first floor taken message to the secondary floor participant, wherein the first floor taken message includes information of the primary floor participant.
MBMS bearer setup in a group communications system
In accordance with particular embodiments, a method, performed by a control node, for multimedia broadcast multicast service, MBMS, bearer setup in a group communications system comprises activating and announcing an MBMS bearer to the client nodes. The MBMS bearer is independent of any particular group of client nodes. The method also includes obtaining a call setup message for a group call from a first client node of the client nodes. The method additionally includes broadcasting a connect message for the group call to at least one other client node of the client nodes in response to having received the call setup message. In accordance with certain embodiments, a method, performed by a client node, for MBMS bearer setup in a group communications system comprises obtaining a service announcement of an MBMS bearer from a control node. The MBMS bearer is independent of any particular group of client nodes. The method additionally includes providing a call setup message for a group call to the control node in response thereto.
