Communication terminal with multiple virtual network interfaces
09832070 · 2017-11-28 · ·

A communication terminal communicates protocol data units across a first virtual interface and a shared interface. The first virtual interface corresponds to an upper layer protocol and a first logical network. The shared interface corresponds to a lower layer protocol. The terminal also communicates protocol data units across a second virtual interface and the shared interface, with the second virtual interface corresponding to the upper layer protocol and a second logical network. The first logical network can be a wide area network that includes devices within a premises and devices outside a premises, and the second logical network may be a local area network that only includes devices within the premises.

Communicating network flow data using a network protocol

A computer-implemented method comprising: (i) defining a new ethertype to be used in communicating PIDs (process identification codes), with the new ethertype being assigned a new ethertype code; (ii) determining a selected abstraction layer from a plurality of abstraction layers to be used in communicating PIDs; and (iii) making a plurality of network communications among and between computers of a networked computers system, with each communication, with the making of each given communication including: (a) inserting the new ethertype code and a PID of a process causing the given communication to occur into a data structure, and (b) communicating the data structure between computers of the networked computers system at the selected abstraction layer.

There is provided a new on-board network system having a relay device that relays communication frames between on-board networks, and between an on-board network and an external device, such as being capable of supporting communication between an on-board network and an external device without a storage area of a relay device being increased.

Method and device for improving the transmission efficiency in a communication system with a layered protocol stack

In a method for improving the transmission efficiency in a communication system with a layered protocol stack, data packets are processed on an upper protocol layer. Data packets are forwarded to a lower protocol layer for transmission and the transmission is performed with variable channel access delays. The upper protocol layer is notified by the lower protocol layer when a transmission is started to allow a synchronization of timers in the upper protocol layer. If a layer performs a scheduling of data packets for the transmission, a rescheduling is performed alternatively or in addition during a channel access delay. Devices and software programs embodying the invention are also described.

Method and system for remote activation and management of personal security devices

Managing a Personal Security Device (PSD) includes retrieving proprietary information from a remote storage location using a first Remote Computer System, providing at least one Client as a host to the PSD and establishing a communications pipe over a first network between the PSD and the Remote Computer System. The communications pipe communicates with the PSD through the Client. Managing a PSD also includes transmitting the proprietary information from the Remote Computer System to the PSD by sending a PSD-formatted message through the communications pipe, where the proprietary information provided in the PSD-formatted message and passing through the Client is at least partially inaccessible by the Client, processing the PSD-formatted messages at the PSD to extract the proprietary information and storing the proprietary information in the PSD.

An electronic apparatus is disclosed, the electronic apparatus including a communicator comprising communication circuitry configured to communicate with an external apparatus, a memory configured to store knowledge information including information regarding the external apparatus and a plurality of action templates that define an operation of the external apparatus and a controller configured to receive identification information of the external apparatus through the communication circuitry of the communicator, to acquire knowledge information and an action template corresponding to the external apparatus based on the identification information from the memory, to generate a command to operate the external apparatus based on the knowledge information and the action template and to transmit the command to the external apparatus through the communication circuitry of the communicator.

Active multi-path network redundancy with performance monitoring

A receiving network node (210) configured to select from received packets differing by time of initial transmission from a sending network node (230), and accepting for transmission, based on initial transmission time, the selected packets to an application layer (740). An internetworked processor node configured to: (a) read a sequence number and an originator identifier of a received packet message (810); (b) compare a stored highest sequence number associated with the originator identifier with the received packet sequence number (820); (c) if the received packet sequence number is less than or equal to the stored highest sequence number associated with the originator identifier, then discard (840) the received packet; and (d) if the received packet sequence number is greater than the stored highest sequence number associated with the originator identifier, then deliver (860) the message of the received packet to an application based on an upper layer protocol.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PERFORMING WIRELESS DOCKING SERVICE

Disclosed herein is a method for performing, by a wireless dockee center (WDC), a docking service in a docking system. The method includes performing a docking connection procedure with a wireless dockee (WD), establishing a WSB (Wi-Fi serial bus) connection with the wireless dockee, and communicating with a Bluetooth host of the wireless dockee using a host controller interface (HCI), wherein the Bluetooth host of the wireless dockee is connected to a Bluetooth controller of the wireless dockee center through the HCI.

Link system, link program, and link method

A client accepts operation information for operating a circuit design CAD tool. The client transmits the accepted operation information to an application server. The application server receives the transmitted operation information. The application server generates a result screen representing a result of operating an implementation design CAD tool according to the received operation information. The application server transmits the generated result screen to the client.
