Method and apparatus for selecting a gateway node

A method for selecting a gateway node for a terminal which connects to its registered domain via an access domain and, in a predetermined scenario, an intermediate domain, the access domain having an associated domain name system arranged to return an address of a gateway node based on a domain name system query. The method includes using a first part of such a query to identify the registered domain of the terminal to the domain name system and a second part of the query to indicate to the domain name system that it should use a predetermined mapping to return the address of a gateway node based on the query, the predetermined mapping being one which returns an address of a gateway node either in the registered domain or in an intermediate domain based on the registered domain identified in the query and on the access domain.

EMERGENCY SERVICES SUPPORT FOR NON-CELLULAR WIRELESS ACCESS

Apparatus and methods to support emergency services sessions by network elements and by a wireless device are disclosed. The wireless device, when roaming to a visited country/region, queries a network-based server to obtain information for Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) that support emergency services sessions via non-cellular wireless access in the visited country/region. The network-based server responds with a list of PLMNs from which the wireless device selects a PLMN. The wireless device further queries the network-based server to obtain information for evolved Packet Data Gateways (ePDGs) for a selected PLMN and receives from the network-based server a list of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for ePDGs that support emergency services sessions via non-cellular wireless access for the selected PLMN. The wireless device further queries the network-based server for local numbers of the visited country for establishing emergency services sessions and receives a categorized list of local numbers for emergency services.

A method for routing a request for content from a content provider through an IPv6 network is described, the IPv6 network being an information centric network (ICN) in which content is directly addressed using at least a portion of an IPv6 address. The method includes receiving, at an IPv6 network, a request for content, determining that the request does not comprise an ICN address. The method further includes intercepting the request, and translating the request into an IPv6 address in which at least a portion of the address is directed to or associated with the piece of content. Systems and methods described herein address problems arising from the interaction between IP and ICN networking models.

Providing a first digital certificate and a DNS response

A computer-implemented method is for providing a digital certificate to a device. In an embodiment, the method is based on receiving, from the device, authentication data via a secure communication channel. Furthermore, the method is based on receiving, from the device, or determining, by the server, a first certificate identifier. In particular, the first certificate identifier is a hash value. Further aspects of the method are verifying the authentication data and receiving, from the device, a first public key created by the device. In an embodiment, the method is furthermore based on sending a first certificate signing request related to a first domain name based on the first public key to a certificate authority. Herein, the first domain name comprises the certificate identifier, and a domain related to the first domain name is controlled by the server. In particular, the first domain name is a wildcard domain.

Authentication of email senders via authorizing DNS server

A DNS server receives from a receiving email system, a DNS query for an email domain stored at the DNS server, the DNS query including identifying information of a sender of an email. The DNS server extracts the identifying information of the email sender from the DNS query and identifies one of a plurality of delivering organizations from the information. The DNS server determines whether the identified delivering organization is authorized to deliver email on behalf of the email domain. In response to determining that the identified delivering organization is authorized to deliver email on behalf of the email domain, the DNS server generates a target validation record based on the identity of the authorized delivering organization and the email domain, the target validation record including one or more rules indicating to the receiving email system whether the delivering organization is an authorized sender of email for the email domain.

Procedures, methods and architectures for anchoring communication between IP-based devices in an ICN network or across an IP peer network are disclosed. Embodiments may enable the communication between two IP-based devices connected to an ICN, or one IP-based device connected to an ICN network while another IP-based device is connected either to an ICN network or IP network. In an embodiment, IP packets originating from an IP-based device may be encapsulated into ICN packets and forwarded via an ICN network. In an embodiment, IP packets received via an ICN network may be encapsulated in ICN packets and forwarded to an IP-based device. In an embodiment, IP packets originating from an IP-based device may be forwarded and received via an ICN network towards another IP network. System and method for connecting a communication to a client

A method and system for connecting a communication to a client including at a system bridge, establishing a client subscription connection with a client device; receiving an incoming communication request at the system bridge; publishing an incoming communication notification from the system bridge to the client device; receiving a client communication at the system bridge; and merging the incoming communication request into the client communication at the system bridge.

A method includes receiving a request to provision an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile to an eSIM-enabled device. The request includes a proxy eSIM identifier (EID) prefix. The eSIM profile is associated with a service provider of a mobile communication service a user of the device subscribes to. The method also includes determining whether the proxy EID prefix includes an address of a target discovery server the device is configured to connect to, and when the proxy EID prefix includes the address the method includes extracting the address of the target discovery server from the proxy EID prefix. Using the extracted address of the target discovery server, the method also includes registering a discovery event with the target discovery server indicating that the service provider has reserved the eSIM profile to the proxy EID or an actual EID assigned to the device.
