Digital workspace sharing over one or more display clients in proximity of a main client
Systems and techniques are provided for a digital collaborative workspace system. The system includes a server network node having a processor and a database accessible thereto. The server network node can include logic to register a first display identification code (DIC) with a first network node, a second DIC with a second network node and a third DIC with a third network node. The server network node can detect an input from a second user identifying the shared workspace and the registered phone number or other identifier of the first user. The server network node can transmit this data to the third network node and in dependence upon receiving a selection of one or more of the first DIC, the second DIC, and the third DIC from the third network node, start a collaboration by sending the shared digital workspace to the network nodes registered with the selected DICs.
ASSOCIATING A USER IDENTIFIER DETECTED FROM WEB TRAFFIC WITH A CLIENT ADDRESS
In one embodiment, a device in a network receives a set of known user identifiers used in the network. The device receives web traffic log data regarding web traffic in the network. The web traffic log data includes header information captured from the web traffic and a plurality of client addresses associated with the web traffic. The device detects a particular one of the set of known user identifiers in the header information captured from the web traffic associated with a particular one of the plurality of client addresses. The device makes an association between the particular detected user identifier and the particular client address.
Device identification within a personal area network
A method and apparatus for associating a name to a device/virtual partner is provided herein. During operation, virtual-partner names will be determined for each co-located virtual partner. When a task is conveyed to a virtual partner, the virtual partner will perform the task only if its name has been called. The name of each virtual partner will be associated with a color shown on a device screen (i.e., the device associated with the virtual partner), object shown on a device screen, and/or color of another indicator that is displayed on the device.
Automatic generation of unique identifiers for distributed directory management users
A controller is configured to perform various steps including receiving a plurality of user identification values. Another step includes determining a first range of the plurality of user identification values, the first range including a first minimum user identification value and a first maximum user identification value. Another step includes assigning a first user identification value to a first user from the first range of the plurality of user identification values to a first user based on the first minimum and maximum user identification values. Another step includes determining a second user identification value from the first range of the plurality of user identification values by incrementing the first user identification value based on the first minimum and maximum identification values. Yet another step includes assigning the second user identification value to a second user.
Client device based solution for handling MAC randomization
A system and method are provided for a network device for use with a client device having a hostname and a MAC address. The network device contains a memory that has a second hostname and a second MAC address stored within the memory. The second MAC address corresponds to the second hostname. The memory also contains a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory to cause the network device to: receive, from the client device, the hostname and the MAC address; determine whether the MAC address is randomized; provide an instruction to the client device to inform a user of the client device that the client device hostname is registered when the hostname matches the second hostname and the MAC address is randomized.
Compression method and system for user friendly address in mesh networking
A method for operating a mesh network is described. The method includes using a protocol comprising an address and a payload, wherein the address and payload are restricted. The method also includes using a hash function to generate an address from a description, wherein the description uses ASCII characters, wherein a message uses the description as an address and wherein the description is transformed into the address using the hash function and added together with the message into the payload, assigning the generated address to a device, wherein the device is part of a mesh network, and in a transmission from a source to the device, providing the generated address within the payload.
Automation system for deployment in a building
An automation system is provided for deployment in a building with rooms and includes computing resources which are receptive of contextual information and an electronic device cluster in each room. Each electronic device cluster includes electronic devices at least one of which gathers environmental information within the room and at least one of which communicates the environmental information to the computing resources. Descriptors of one or more electronic devices of a portion of the electronic device clusters are undefined at an initial time. The computing resources are configured to compare the contextual and environmental information from at least one electronic device cluster, identify a location and a use of the one or more electronic devices of the portion of the electronic device clusters based on comparison results and assign descriptors to the one or more electronic devices accordingly and communicate with the one or more electronic devices using the descriptors.
Provisioning tool for a content delivery network (CDN)
A tool that allows a CDN customer, partner, or other authorized entity to create a DNS canonical name (CNAME) on the content delivery network without having to contact the content delivery network service provider directly.
Systems and methods for resolution of uniform resource locators in a local network
In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for resolving a uniform resource locator may include receiving, at a router, a uniform resource locator from a client information handling system within a local network of the router. The method may also include processing, by the router, the uniform resource locator to determine if the uniform resource locator includes a local domain name of a local information handling system within the local network. The method may further include resolving, by the router, a unique address associated with the uniform resource locator and the local information handling system responsive to determining that the uniform resource locator includes the local domain name of the local information handling system, wherein such resolving is performed without resort to a domain name service external to the local network.
