Differential flow detector for firefighting systems

A flow switch for a firefighting system is disclosed, providing high reliability and low fluid flow resistance impact. The switch utilizes pressure drop across a valve, which is commonly already required in the firefighting system. Optionally pressure drop across a check valve is utilized.

The invention relates to a fire extinguishing system valve (1), in particular a wet alarm valve, dry alarm valve or spray water valve, comprising a housing (2, 3) which has a fluid inlet chamber (8), a fluid outlet chamber (9) and a closing body (4a) which is movable to and fro between a blocking state and a release state, wherein, in the release state, the fluid inlet chamber (8) and the fluid outlet chamber (9) communicate with each other directly in a fluid-conducting manner, and, in the blocking state, the closing body (4a) prevents the direct communication between the fluid inlet chamber (8) and the fluid outlet chamber (9) characterized by a bypass line (10) which is integrated in the housing and is connected to the fluid inlet chamber (8) and the fluid outlet chamber (9) in a fluid-conducting manner.

DRY SPRINKLER SYSTEM MANIFOLD ADAPTER

A manifold assembly is mountable to a piping manifold for a dry sprinkler system having a non-wet valve assembly separating pressurized gas on a downstream side thereof from a water supply on an upstream side thereof. The manifold assembly includes a single piece body having an inlet for removably coupling to, and receiving water from, an upstream wet standpipe, and an outlet for removably coupling to, and delivering water to, the non-wet valve assembly. A control valve assembly is mounted to the body and a mechanically independent flow detection switch is mounted to the body. Each of a test and drain valve and a pressure relief valve is fluidly connected with the body downstream of the control valve assembly and upstream of the

Systems and methods of an integrated fluid control valve and valve actuator assembly are provided. The assembly includes a pressure operated fluid control valve for controlling the flow of liquid from a liquid supply piping system into a sprinkler piping system of a fire protection system when transitioning the fire protection system from a stand-by state to an actuated state. The control valve defines a valve chamber for holding a pressurized fluid to prevent the flow of fluid through the control valve. A valve actuator is coupled to the fluid control valve housing for setting of the fluid control valve in an unactuated ready state and for operating the fluid control valve automatically and/or manually. The assembly has a common supply port to supply fluid to the control valve and the actuator and a common discharge port connected to multiple devices that can place the system in an actuated state.

Alarm valve station of a fire extinguishing system, in particular a sprinkler or spray water extinguishing system, and fire extinguishing system

An alarm valve station (80) of a fire extinguishing system (100) includes a fire extinguishing system valve (1) having a housing (2, 3) which has a fluid inlet chamber (8), a fluid outlet chamber (9) and a closing body (4a) reciprocable between a blocking state and a release state, wherein the fluid inlet chamber (8) and the fluid outlet chamber (9) are separated from each other in the blocking state and communicate with each other in fluid-conducting relationship in the release state. In particular it is proposed that the evaluation unit is connected in signal-conducting relationship to one or more actuators, and is adapted to control the actuator or actuators by the control commands, wherein the alarm valve station preferably has one or more sensors and the evaluation unit is connected in signal-conducting relationship to the sensor or sensors and is adapted to control the actuator or actuators in dependence on the sensor data present thereat.
