Emergency services routing proxy cluster management

Systems and methods for clustering emergency services routing proxies are provided. The described features allow a group of ESRPs running as individual servers or a group of virtual servers, to be referenced using a single URI. In one implementation, an emergency services routing proxy device includes an emergency services routing proxy node configured to route a call to a downstream entity, the call received from an upstream entity. The device further includes a cluster manager configured to receive registration information from the emergency services routing proxy node, the registration information including a routing service identifier. The cluster manager may be further configured to identify the emergency services routing proxy node for call routing based on a comparison of an identifier included in the call with the routing service identifier.

System and Method for Determining Trust for SIP Messages

A method for performing initial registration is provided. The method includes receiving a server timeout message, the server timeout message including at least a field set to a value equal to a value received during a first registration. The method further includes initiating restoration procedures by performing an initial registration.

Method and apparatus for modifying address information in signaling messages to ensure in-path devices remain in signaling path between endpoints

Contact information in SIP signaling messages is modified at each in-path network device during the signaling process (along with storage of mapping information) to allow the in-path network devices (and proxy server) to identify the next (or previous) hop device in the path, and thus, maintain the path taken by signaling messages early on during the signaling process. Subsequent request and response signaling messages transmitted during the session follow this path, which ensures that the in-path network devices remain in the SIP signaling path.

Method and system for transfer of call control

According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a method is disclosed for a SIPIMR node to withdraw from a SIP session set-up loop by replying a redirect message to the SIP Invite sending node. The redirect message contains information for setting up alternative SIP session, said information being available in the SIP Invite receiving node. This information is usable by the SIPIMS node for establishing an alternative SIP session as well as information needed by other nodes and applications further on in the SIP session set-up loop. The SIPIMS node is specially adapted to retrieve the information from the redirect message for establishing a new SIP session based on and containing the information from the redirect message. Several implementations are given for use in an IP Multimedia Subsystem of a telecommunication network.

Method of processing data in internet protocol television receiver and internet protocol television receiver
RE046508 · 2017-08-08 · ·

A method of processing data in an IPTV receiver and such an IPTV receiver are disclosed. The method includes receiving location information necessary to acquire a content corresponding to a content reference identifier (CRID) by using the CRID, requesting an Internet protocol multimedia subsystem Gateway (IG) to transmit a session description protocol (SDP) file of the content, wherein the content is identified by the CRID and an instance metadata identifier (IMI), receiving the requested SDP file from the IG, and controlling a session setup for processing the content by using the received location information and the received SDP file.

System and method for geographic SIP scaling

A system and method for scaling a session initiation protocol communication system that allows components of the system to be distributed and/or scaled across multiple and different hardware, networks, systems, and locations.

Communication apparatus, communication method, and storage medium

A communication apparatus includes a transmission unit configured to, in response to an information request from another apparatus, transmit issued information issued by the communication apparatus to the another apparatus, a first reception unit configured to receive a transfer request based on the issued information from a client apparatus, a second reception unit configured to receive, from a server apparatus, data to be transferred to the client apparatus operating as a transmission source of the transfer request based on the issued information, and a transfer unit configured to, in a case where the first reception unit receives the transfer request based on the issued information from each of a plurality of client apparatuses including a client apparatus to which the issued information issued by the communication apparatus is not transmitted by the transmission unit, transfer the data received from the server apparatus to the plurality of client apparatuses.

Method and apparatus for providing media resources in a communication network

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, providing a request associated with a call session to a server, wherein the request includes capability information associated with user equipment. A codec is identified according to the capability information to obtain an identified codec, which facilitates media service to the user equipment. The media service is accessed from a media resource function, which in turn, is accessed by the server responsive to the identified codec. An operable resource identifier is identified responsive to a search of a codec table, wherein the server accesses the operable resource identifier associated with the media resource function from a domain name server responsive to the resource identifier not being available at the codec table. Other embodiments are disclosed.

CALL CENTER MOBILE MESSAGING

A method and system enables communications with a call center via SMS/MMS and provides an additional communications channel to communicate with the call center in addition to voice, Internet email/IM chat and fax. The call center obtains location information and images from a customer using SMS messages and web pages via a messaging hub.

Internet protocol multimedia subsystem emergency calls for roaming user equipments

A method of operating a policy and charging rules function (“PCRF”) node to handle an internet protocol multimedia subsystem (“IMS”) emergency call can include receiving an identity request from a proxy call session control function (“P-CSCF”) of an IMS network. The identity request can include an internet protocol (“IP”) address for a user equipment (“UE”). The method can further include, responsive to receiving the identity request, determining one or more identifiers of the UE based on the IP address. The one or more identifiers are separate from the IP address. The method can further include, responsive to determining the one or more identifiers, transmitting an indication of the one or more identifiers of the UE to the P-CSCF.
