Answering machine detection for a contact center
Answering machine detection (AMD) processes in a contact center are improved by obtaining and storing call pickup times regarding answered calls. The call pickup time is based on the time between detection of a signaling message indicating the call was offered to the remote interface and a signaling message indicating the call was answered. The value of the call pickup time may be useful to determine if an automatic voice messaging capability (AVMC) or a live human answered the call. In other embodiments, the call pickup time is used to generate a call pickup time weighting factor that is used to supplement the analysis of the initial audio greeting after the call has been answered to determine whether an AVMC or live person answered the call. The analysis can be used to determine whether the AVMC is an answering machine or a voice mail service.
Home gateway system with telephony functions and method
A home gateway system has a transceiver (70) capable of establishing a wireless local loop connection (72). A voice processing system (74) is coupled to the transceiver (70). The voice processing system (74) is capable of storing a message from an incoming call. A caller identification processing system (76) is coupled to the transceiver (70). The caller identification processing system (76) determines a telephone number of the incoming call and routes the incoming call to the voice processing system (74), if the telephone number belongs to a screened group of telephone numbers.
VOICE-ACTIVATED SELECTIVE MEMORY FOR VOICE-CAPTURING DEVICES
Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for voice-activated selective memory for voice-capturing devices are disclosed. A first voice input from a voice-capturing device is received, via a network, at a service provider environment comprising one or more services. The first voice input comprises one or more utterances from a user of the voice-capturing device. A representation of the first voice input is stored. A second voice input from the voice-capturing device is received, via the network, at the service provider environment. The second voice input represents a command to disregard the first voice input. Based on the second voice input, the representation of the first voice input is deleted.
CAMERA CAPABLE OF COMMUNICATING WITH OTHER COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A cellular phone is capable of telephone-calling with an external device, and includes an antenna by which to communicate with the external device; a lens; an image sensor that outputs an image signal; a display; a loudspeaker; and a processer. The processor controls the display to display an announcement of an incoming call from the external device after receiving a calling signal via the antenna, and in a case that the calling signal is received during operation of the image sensor in a moving image mode, the processor permits communication between the cellular phone and the external device via the antenna and using the loudspeaker and a microphone of the cellular phone after the announcement of the incoming call is displayed by the display and after the processor receives an instruction from an input device of the cellular phone to allow starting of the telephone-calling with the external device.
PROVIDING AUDIO ANNOUNCEMENT TO CALLED PARTIES
The present disclosure describes a system, method, and computer-readable medium for providing audio announcement of communications to a called party in a communication network. The method includes receiving communication from a calling party and performing a lookup of information relating to the calling party in a database via an Internet Protocol connection based on an identifier of at least one of the calling party and the called party. The information comprises one or more audio files. The method then provides the audio announcement to a called party based on the audio files.

Communication apparatus mounted with speech speed conversion device
In a communication apparatus, an encoder compresses telephone call voice which is transmitted from another communication apparatus. A voice accumulator preserves the telephone call voice, which is compressed by the encoder, as a message. A decoder expands the telephone call voice which is preserved in the voice accumulator. A signal memory temporarily maintains the telephone call voice which is expanded by the decoder. A speech speed convertor performs speech speed conversion on the telephone call voice, which is read from the signal memory, and outputs resulting voice from a speaker. A memory monitor temporarily stops to expand the telephone call voice in the decoder in a case where the memory monitor determines that an idle capacity of the signal memory approaches a predetermined lower limit value.
