Adjusting presentation on smart phone lockscreen of visual content associated with metadata of incoming call

A call handling function executed in response to activation of a link in encoded metadata of an incoming call adjusts presentation of visual content of the incoming call on a lockscreen of a smart phone based on information in the metadata that is descriptive of the incoming call. The incoming call metadata is decoded prior to connecting the incoming call to a dialer function of the smart phone.

CONTENT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A system comprising: (a) a server receiving a calling party's phone number and a called party's phone number when a telephone call is placed; (b) a database of content items uploaded to the server, each of said content items associated with a telephone number of a party that uploaded it; and (c) a content delivery mechanism configured to push a unique identifier (UID) of a specific content item uploaded by the called party to the calling party's handset in response to said receiving by said server.

Automatic mobile device website login

A processing system receives device registration information from a registered user of a website. The device registration information includes a registered telephone number assigned to a mobile communications device. The processing system receives a request for a homepage of the website from a requesting mobile communications device coupled to the processing system via a mobile carrier communications system. The Internet Protocol (IP) address associated with the request is obtained, and the processing system obtains a telephone number currently associated with the IP address from a mobile carrier communications system. The processing system attempts to automatically login the requesting mobile communications device to the website by matching the telephone number currently associated with the IP address to the registered telephone number, and conditionally transmits different versions of the homepage based on whether the requesting mobile communications device has been automatically logged in to the website.

CONTENT SENDING METHOD AND APPARATUS, AND CONTENT RECEIVING METHOD AND APPARATUS

A content sending method includes: a server obtains video media content and additional information content, indicates a calling terminal to complete resource reservation for transmitting the video media content and the additional information content, transmits the video media content to a first port set of the calling terminal, and transmits the additional information content to a second port set of the calling terminal. In this way, two types of content streams are transmitted to the calling terminal by using channels of the two port sets, and a function of providing an additional service in a process of playing a video ring back tone is implemented.

Mobile-device-based carrier voicemail reduction

A mobile device having phoning capabilities also include capabilities to optionally reduce an operating load on a centralized mobile carrier voicemail system. The user of the mobile device is presented with a notification of an incoming call and is provided with an opportunity to answer the call in a traditional fashion, to optionally engage the centralized mobile carrier voicemail system, or to instead have the mobile device manage options relating to locally obtaining a voicemail from a maker of the incoming call. When the mobile device manages obtaining a voicemail from the maker of the incoming call, the voicemail is originally obtained and is stored locally, without use of centralized carrier resources at the time of recording the voicemail, and the mobile device can also play the recorded voicemail at any time without use of the centralized carrier resources.

STATUS PROMPT MULTIMEDIA PLAYING METHOD AND SYSTEM, AND APPARATUS
20210203777 · 2021-07-01 ·

Example status prompt multimedia playing methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes receiving a first multimedia request by a status prompt application server, where the first multimedia request includes a non-idle identifier and is sent by a TAS. The status prompt application server sends a first multimedia response including a status prompt multimedia session description protocol (SDP) to the TAS, and receives a first multimedia acknowledgement message that includes a calling-side multimedia SDP and that is sent by the TAS. In this way, the status prompt application server obtains the calling-side multimedia SDP, and implements negotiation and acknowledgement of multimedia capability sets between the status prompt application server and a calling terminal device. The status prompt application server can play corresponding status prompt multimedia for the calling terminal device based on different non-idle identifiers. This implements playing of personalized status prompt multimedia in a non-idle state scenario.

Detection of signal tone in audio signal

A technique for detecting a signal tone in an audio signal is disclosed. A determination is made as to whether a peak modulation frequency in the audio signal is in a specific range or not to obtain a determination result. A measure regarding a modulation spectrum of the audio signal is calculated. The measure is calculated based on at least components of the modulation spectrum above a specific limit of modulation frequency. By using the determination result and the measure regarding the modulation spectrum, a judgement is done as to whether the audio signal contains a signal tone or not.

PREVENT OR DETER UNWANTED CALLS USING PSEUDO RINGBACK SOUNDS
20210203778 · 2021-07-01 ·

Deterring or defeating Robocallers and telemarketers by preventing incoming calls from ringing a called phone while deceptive pseudo ringback sounds are returned to the caller while the called phone is not ringing. Ringback sounds are incorrectly associated with a called phone ringing; ringback sounds only indicate a call is connected. This methodology does not require any identification of nor information about a call.

Method for playing multimedia customized ringing signal and customized alerting tone, and application server
11849067 · 2023-12-19 · ·

One example method for playing a multimedia customized ringing signal and customized alerting tone includes receiving, by an application server, an initial call request from a calling terminal, sending the initial call request to a called terminal, receiving a provisional response in response to the initial call request from the called terminal, determining customized ring signal media resource information based on the provisional response, sending a first media session update message that carries the customized ring signal media resource information to the called terminal; and receiving a first response from the called terminal, where the initial call request includes SDP information of the calling terminal, and the first response includes a result of a customized ringing signal media resource negotiation between the application server and the called terminal.

INTERACTION INFORMATION TRANSMISSION METHOD AND APPARATUS
20210136128 · 2021-05-06 ·

This application provides an interaction information transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a calling terminal from an RBT-AS, an SDP message including interaction information related to a video ring back tone; receiving, by the calling terminal from the RBT-MRS, a video ring back tone media stream including the video ring back tone; and playing, by the calling terminal, the video ring back tone in a display interface, and displaying interaction content related to the interaction information. Since the RBT-AS configures the interaction information into the SDP message and sends the SDP message to the calling terminal, the calling terminal does not need to perform decoding and can directly obtain the interaction information and the RBT-AS does not need to encode the interaction information either. Therefore, encoding and decoding processes are not required at a transmit end and a receive end respectively, avoiding extra processing overheads.
