Method and system for automatic transmission of status information
A method for automatic transmission of status information from a first communications terminal set up for speech communication to a second communications terminal set up for text communication is provided. The speech communication between communications terminals is processed over a speech communications server and the text communication between communications terminals over a text communications server. The speech communications server and the text communications server exchange messages over at least one converter device. The status information will be transmitted from the first communications terminal over the speech communications server, the converter device, and the text communications server to the second communications terminal.
Packet-Switched Telephony
In implementations of packet-switched telephony, a packet switched telephony service provider receives a call request from a user device. The call request includes a telephone number corresponding to a public-switched telephone network subscriber. The call request is transmitted from the packet switched telephony service provider to a gateway for forwarding to the public-switched telephone network subscriber. A call is caused to be established between the user device and the public-switched telephone network subscriber.
NETWORK-INITIATED DATA TRANSFER IN A MOBILE NETWORK
A method for Internet Protocol communication from a communications server to a mobile terminal includes receiving data for communication to the mobile terminal, the data received at the communications server, identifying the unavailability of an Internet Protocol connection with the mobile terminal, and initiating the delivery of a message for establishing an Internet Protocol connection with the mobile network to the mobile terminal in response to the determination that an Internet Protocol connection is unavailable.
Packet-switched telephony
A system and method for providing packet-switched telephony service. The system provides call control, signaling, and/or delivery of voice, video, and other media in substantially real time. One embodiment of the system includes a call client application on a user device, and a call server located at a packet-switched telephony service provider. The call server is preferably operable to communicate with the call client in a non-native protocol and with the gateway in a native protocol.
Multimedia emergency services
A mechanism is provided for remotely controlling one or more monitoring devices in a user's household in the event of emergency so as to more productively monitor the emergency situation on a real-time basis. The monitoring devices may include a number of multimedia instruments such as a telephone with an answering machine, a computer with a built-in digital camera, a video recording device, a cellular phone with an integrated digital camera, etc. An emergency service provider may remotely activate the monitoring devices in the user's vicinity upon receiving an emergency help request from the user, and receive the information sent by the monitoring devices to enable the service personnel to plan appropriate response to the emergency at hand. Such an arrangement allows for better monitoring of the user's vicinity in an emergency situation without the need for prolonged user participation in narrating or describing the emergency situation.
LTE Cellular Mobile Network Access System and Corresponding Communication Method
An LTE cellular mobile network access system and a corresponding communication method are provided. The system includes a SIM card interface device, a mobile terminal, and a NRS accessing to a domestic cellular mobile network. The SIM card interface device is configured to hold a SIM card and forward authentication information of the SIM card to the NRS via the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal is in communication with the NRS via the Internet and is configured to register on the NRS and transmit signaling data and voice data to the NRS. The NRS is configured to establish a standard S1 connection with the domestic cellular mobile network and transmit the signaling data and the voice data to the domestic cellular mobile network.
METHOD FOR COLLECT CALL SERVICE BASED ON VOIP TECHNOLOGY AND SYSTEM THEREOF
One embodiment of the present invention provides a collect call method and system thereof, more particularly, in order to charge the called party with a uniform toll for collect call, which is determined by only the type and location of called party terminal. In one embodiment, the collect call method, system and a counsel service providing method use a free VoIP network for part of the voice call link and a charge PSTN network for the rest of the voice call link. In one embodiment, if the first link corresponding to the collect call request is established, the collect call switch calls the called party terminal to establish the second link, and billing on the second link is initiated.
Systems, Methods And Apparatus For Converting Between Wireless Protocols
Various embodiments of systems, devices, and methods are described for wireless communication. In one example a first wireless signal is received in a first radio frequency spectrum using a first antenna exterior to a building. The first wireless signal is associated with a first wireless protocol. The first wireless signal is converted into a first intermediate signal associated with a coaxial protocol. The first intermediate signal is transmitted to an interior of the building using a coaxial cable. The first intermediate signal is converted into a second signal associated with a second wireless protocol. The second signal is then transmitted in a second radio frequency spectrum using a second antenna interior to the building. The second signal is transmitted using the second wireless protocol.
Techniques for a mixed audio conference
Techniques for a mixed audio conference are described. An apparatus may comprise an audio video multipoint control unit to mix call information from multiple call connections established over a packet-switched network for a conference call. The apparatus may comprise a telephony gateway communicatively coupled to the audio video multipoint control unit. The telephony gateway may establish a bridge connection with a conference bridge servicing a call connection over a circuit-switched network, the telephony gateway to translate call information from the call connection for use by the audio video multipoint control unit. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
