SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUBSCRIBER USER INTERFACES
Methods, apparatus, and systems manage use of shared network resources among subscribers to a data communication service. In some implementations, a first metric is computed representing a subscriber's use of the shared network resources. A second metric may also be computed that represents the amount of network congestion of the shared network resources. Data derived from the first metric and the second metric may then be presented to the subscriber. The data may be transmitted to the subscriber over a network and/or the data may be displayed to the subscriber on an electronic display.
POLICY BASED SELECTION OF NETWORK
Apparatuses and methods for policy based selection of a network. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a user equipment (UE) includes obtaining a transfer policy from a policy node of a first network, the transfer policy being associated with a network selection for an application; and determining whether the application is to be transferred from using the first network to using a second network based at least in part on the obtained transfer policy, the first network being one of a standalone non-public network, SNPN, and a public land mobile network, PLMN and the second network being another one of the SNPN and the PLMN and the transfer policy being based at least in part on at least one of: (i) Quality-of-service, QoS, information associated with the application and (ii) whether the UE has a subscription to the second network.
CHARGING PROCESSING METHOD AND SYSTEM AND RELATED DEVICE
A charging processing method includes: A charging trigger device sends a charging request message to a charging processing device, where the charging request message includes redundant transmission information, that is, related information of redundant transmission used for a data connection service in a data connection session; and the charging processing device performs charging processing based on the redundant transmission information, including determining a redundant service charging processing mode, performing charging processing on a usage amount reported by the charging trigger device, sending usage amount processing indication information to the charging trigger device, or the like.
Communication Method and Apparatus
A communication method includes after a session management function network element establishes, for a terminal device, a protocol data unit session that is in a first network and that includes a first quality of service flow, and when a terminal device is handed over from the first network to a second network, if it is determined to map the first quality of service flow to a first bearer in the second network, the second message that includes an identifier of a first accounting session corresponding to the first quality of service flow and information about the first bearer may be sent to an authentication, authorization, and accounting server such that the second message indicates the authentication, authorization, and accounting server to update the first accounting session.
Method to push toll-free applications to a user device
The present system relates to a server providing data connectivity to an electronic device. The server includes a memory storing data connectivity policy information for the electronic device. The policy information defines a data traffic threshold marking a change in data traffic billing for data traffic the electronic device may exchange with service provider(s) over a telecommunication network. The server has a receiver, which monitors data traffic from instances of applications installed on the electronic device, and has a usage monitor, which maintains a first quantity indicative of the monitored data traffic. A data connectivity policy manager detects that the first quantity exceeds the data traffic threshold of the data connectivity policy, determines a first application requesting such traffic, retrieves a second application linked to the first application, the second application having data traffic billing specific to the second application, and presents the second application to the electronic device.
Network service pricing and resource management in a software defined networking environment
Systems and methods are described for network service pricing and service resource management, implemented by a server communicatively coupled to a Software Defined Networking (SDN) network configured to provide the network service. The systems and methods includes receiving a service request for a network service in the SDN network; determining one or more price categories and one or more network resources for the service request, wherein the network resources are selected to instantiate the network service; adjusting a price of the network resources by adjusting the price within a range of the price categories based on current and known future network information of the SDN network; and responsive to acceptance of the price, instantiating the network service through the network resources in the SDN network.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM TO DYNAMICALLY ADAPT OVER-THE-TOP (OTT) CALL ROUTING
A method for setting a policy for Over-The-Top (OTT) calls in a mobile network is provided. The method includes determining whether a cell of the mobile network has at least one neighboring cell of at least one roaming partner of the mobile network, and determining a bearer policy for routing OTT calls in the cell based on whether the cell is determined to have the at least one neighboring cell of the at least one roaming partner. The determined bearer policy indicates whether the OTT calls in the cell are to be routed on a dedicated bearer or a default bearer for connecting to an Internet Access Point Name (APN).
Quality of service information notification to user equipment, users, and application server
The present invention provides methods and apparatus for notifying Quality of Service (QoS) information to User Equipment (UE), Users, and Application server. Embodiments of the present invention may analyze the network QoS and/or statistics of QoS parameters using one or more functions such as Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF). Embodiments may also provide control plane (CP) functions which may send the QoS information to the UE depending on the UE subscription, application and/or network slice.
System, network, device and stacked spectrum method for implementing spectrum sharing of multiple contiguous and non-contiguous spectrum bands utilizing universal wireless access gateways to enable dynamic security and bandwidth policy management
A system and method in various embodiments implements a virtual spectrum band stacking technique facilitating spectrum sharing by converting and combining spectrum bands consisting of several different RF channels, common air interfaces, and radio channel protocols in the radio frequency channel domain to form IP Virtual Radio Channels (IP-VRCs) in the packet data domain. This virtual spectrum stacking technique combines the transmissions of contiguous and non-contiguous RF channels with differing physical layers into IP-VRCs. This technique enables simultaneous parallel high-speed wireless transmission; virtual radio channel hopping for enhanced security; and customized security schemes for different IP-VRC Groups. The deployment of the combination of IP-VRC Groups; Universal “Small Cell” Base Stations; and Universal Wireless End-Point Devices allows the aggregation of all available spectrum bands for use within a building environment. Some benefits of this deployment include expansion of spectrum utilization, service quality, security, applications and transmission throughput for wireless end-point devices.
Quality of Service Dependent Policy Rules
A method for operating a policy control entity (100) in a cellular network, the method comprising: —receiving subscriber data comprising a policy with an indication that a conditional Quality-of-Service handling is to be applied to a data packet session exchanged between a user equipment of a subscriber and an application in dependence on at least one condition, the sub-scriber data further comprising a charging indication used for charging the subscriber for the data packet session in dependence on the fact whether the conditional Quality-of-Service handling has been applied to the data packet session, —generating a policy and charging rule for the data packet session, the policy and charging rule comprising the conditional Quality-of-Service handling of the data packet session in dependence on the condition and the charging of the subscriber in dependence on the fact whether the conditional Quality-of-Service handling has been applied or not, —transmitting the generated policy and charging rule to a session management entity of the cellular network configured to manage the data packet session in the cellular network.
