A method and system of restoring a functionality of a mobile user device. A lock screen is displayed on the display of the user device. An international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) of a subscriber identity module (SIM) card presently installed in the user device is determined. The IMSI is sent to a Remote Recovery Server (RRS). A message is received from the RRS indicating whether the IMSI is authorized for the user device and whether an account of the user device is replenished at least in part. Upon determining that the IMSI is authorized for the user device and the account of the user device is replenished at least in part, at least one function that was previously restricted is restored.

In a case where a second license for an application corresponding to a first license that is issued based on license information is to be issued based on different license information including a licensed period continuous to the licensed period of the first license, a usage period is set such that the ending time of the first license can be continuous to the starting time of the second license to issue the second license.

A telecommunications service provider agrees to a pre-paid plan including phone, text and data services, which it provides to a user through her mobile device. The provider's computer system then sends a notification to the user's mobile device that refers to benefits and contains a launch prompt. When the launch prompt is selected by the user, an application program is automatically launched in the mobile device, or a browser in the mobile device is automatically navigated to a website, which prompts the user to identify herself using minimum personal information (e.g., first and last name, date of birth and postal code.) In response, the mobile device is then signaled by the computer system of the telecommunications service provider to display to the user an offer of i) a pre-bundled group of, or ii) an individually selectable variety of, products or services (the benefits.) The present disclosure provides a method (200) in a network entity for control of a Value Added Service (VAS) to be provided for a user. The method (200) comprises: receiving (S210) from another network entity an indication of an account status of a VAS related account associated with the user; determining (S220) a VAS control policy for the VAS based on the account status; and transmitting (S230) the VAS control policy to a network controller that controls provision of the VAS.

An exemplary method comprises executing a first attach operation (e.g., an IMSI attach operation) for a mobile device, the first attach operation resulting in a successful first attachment for the mobile device; determining, for a particular period, non-execution of a second attach operation (e.g., a GPRS operation) for a second attachment for the mobile device; classifying, based on the successful first attachment and the non-execution of the second attach operation for the particular period, the mobile device as a silent roamer; and determining whether the mobile device is associated with a data package for establishing a first quota of data access.

A method and system of detecting a delinquent mobile user device. An international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) of a subscriber identity module (SIM) card of the user device is determined by the user device. The IMSI is sent to a Remote Recovery Server (RRS). A message is received from the RRS as to whether the IMSI is authorized for the user device. Upon determining that the IMSI is not authorized for the user device, a notification is displayed on a display of the user device.

A method for providing real time data network usage information using an SPR includes receiving a request for real time data network usage information. The method further includes, in response to the request, effecting a data change for the subscriber in the SPR. The method further includes, at the SPR, in response to the data change, sending a notification of the change to a policy and changing rules function (PCRF). The method further includes, at the PCRF, in response to the notification of the data change, requesting real time data network usage information from at least one policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) serving the subscriber. The method further includes, at the PCRF, receiving the data network usage information from the at least one serving PCEF. The method further includes providing an indication of the real time data network usage information to the SPR.
