Notification shade with animated reveal of notification indications
A computing device is described that displays a set of graphical elements in a status bar of a graphical user interface. Each graphical element corresponds to a different pending notification. While expanding a notification shade from the status bar, the device displays the graphical elements within an area of the notification shade that is adjacent to a leading edge of the notification shade. Responsive to determining that a particular notification message is newly visible, the device removes, a particular graphical element that corresponds to the particular notification message, and displays the particular graphical element within the particular notification message. In this manner, interaction with the notification area may be more efficient, as during a process of expanding or contracting this area, the user may be informed the underlying state of the set of pending notifications as a whole.
Electronic device and method of controlling electronic device
An electronic device for changing a notification mode and a method therefor are provided. The electronic device includes communication circuitry, at least one processor, and a memory. The memory stores instructions, when executed, configured to cause the at least one processor to establish communication with a wearable device through the communication circuitry, and upon identifying a change in an operation state of the wearable device, change from a first notification mode of the electronic device to a second notification mode according to the identified operation state of the wearable device.
Emergency notifications during scheduled silent modes on mobile phones
A mobile phone configured to operate in a normal notification mode and an emergency notification mode. The mobile phone includes a memory adapted to maintain profiles relating to user contacts, an output device operable to emit audible notifications responsive to incoming communications, at least one input device operable to receive a user selection of a silent notification mode of the device and a user selection of a silent mode disabled setting associated with the profiles and a processor coupled to the memory, the output device and the at least one input device. When the device is in the silent notification mode, audible notifications are not emitted from the output device responsive to incoming communications from the user contacts having profiles without the silent mode disabled and audible notifications are emitted from the output device responsive to incoming communications from the user contacts having profiles with the silent mode disabled.

A method for controlling a mobile system comprising a first terminal and a second terminal, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: transmitting a request message from the first terminal to the second terminal using a user input applied to the first terminal; determining, by the second terminal, whether the transmitted request message satisfies a preset first condition or not; processing, by the second terminal, a control command, which corresponds to the transmitted request message, on the basis of the result of determination regarding the first condition; transmitting a response message, which reflects the result of processing, from the second terminal to the first terminal; determining, by the first terminal, whether the transmitted response message satisfies a preset second condition or not; and processing, by the first terminal, a control command, which corresponds to the transmitted response message, on the basis of the result of determination regarding the second condition, wherein the request message and the response message use a short message service (SMS), and content of the request message and that of the response message are formed on the basis of a preset protocol.

The present invention relates to a haptic information provision device. The haptic information provision device (100) according to the present invention comprises: a receiver (120) for receiving external notification information; a controller (130) for converting the notification information to a haptic signal; and an operation unit (110) for transferring haptic information to a user according to the haptic signal, wherein the operation unit (110) includes a plurality of operation units (110a-110j), the respective operation units (110a-110j) operating in response to different notification information and thus transferring different haptic information to the user.

One illustrative system disclosed herein includes a processor configured to: receive a signal; determine a haptic effect based at least in part on the signal; and transmit a haptic signal associated with the haptic effect. The system further includes a haptic output device in communication with the processor and coupled to a holder, wherein the holder is configured to mechanically couple with an electronic device. The haptic output device is configured to receive the haptic signal and output the haptic effect.
Volume control for mobile device using a wireless device
A wearable device can facilitate automatic adjustment of a volume control and/or other settings of a host device based on properties of the ambient environment. For example, when a host device generates an audible alert, a wearable device can sample the ambient sound to detect a distinct contribution corresponding to the audible alert; if the contribution is outside acceptable levels, the wearable device can notify the host device to adjust the alert volume and/or other alert characteristics. Adjustments to host-device settings can also be made based on comparing audio signals collected by the host device and the wearable device.
Volume control for mobile device using a wireless device
A wearable device can facilitate automatic adjustment of a volume control and/or other settings of a host device based on properties of the ambient environment. For example, when a host device generates an audible alert, a wearable device can sample the ambient sound to detect a distinct contribution corresponding to the audible alert; if the contribution is outside acceptable levels, the wearable device can notify the host device to adjust the alert volume and/or other alert characteristics. Adjustments to host-device settings can also be made based on comparing audio signals collected by the host device and the wearable device.
ADAPTIVE CALL NOTIFICATION
A method for adaptive call notification in a user equipment (UE) includes detecting an incoming call indication such as a ring signal. The ambient sound level for the UE is measured in response to the incoming call indication. A UE vibration device is activated in response to the detected incoming call indication and the ambient sound level being greater than a user-selectable threshold.
