Synchronized group messaging
Devices and methods for synchronized group messaging in a wireless communication system are described. Multicast transmissions, such as those in a dense network, can cause significant medium usage because same multicast packet is likely sent by multiple APs at different time. Medium usage in such implementations may be redundant. As such, the transmission medium is not used optimally. Devices and methods which coordinate and align group messages (e.g., multicast packets) amongst APs are described. Each AP may be configured to transmit identical packets at the same time. Therefore, medium usage can be reduced, while the range can be extended due to accumulated energy from APs.
LOCATION-BASED SOCIAL SOFTWARE FOR MOBILE DEVICES
A method for communicating location information to a device includes receiving, at a computer system that implements a social networking service, location information that represents a geographic location of a device associated with a first user; associating, by the computer system, the received location information with a profile associated with the first user; and sending, from the computer system to a device associated with a second user, a message that is generated based at least in part on the location information.
Location-based social software for mobile devices
A method for communicating location information to a device includes receiving, at a computer system that implements a social networking service, location information that represents a geographic location of a device associated with a first user, associating, by the computer system, the received location information with a profile associated with the first user; and sending, from the computer system to a device associated with a second user, a message that is generated based at least in part on the location information.
Systems and methods for notifying law enforcement officers of armed intruder situations#
A computer-implemented method executed by one or more computer servers includes receiving a notification from a first communication device. The notification indicates an armed intruder within a first stationary geofence. The method further includes determining whether one or more of a first plurality of communication devices are within a second stationary geofence different than the first stationary geofence, and in response to the notification, providing an emergency alert to the communication device(s) determined to be within the second stationary geofence. Other example computer-implemented methods, communication devices including software applications, and systems for notifying one or more LEOs of an armed intruder by a premises personnel associated with a premises are also disclosed.
Performing automated event services to registered end users
A method and apparatus are disclosed of transmitting live event notification information to a user device. One example method may include retrieving event user preference information from an event user database based on prestored user preferences. The method may also include transmitting an initial event notification message to an end user communication device based on the event user preference information to notify the end user of an upcoming event and receiving a response message from the end user communication device indicating a current availability of the end user. The user device may receive notification information via more than one communication channel and respond in a number of different ways.
Method and device for responding to an audio inquiry
Method and device for responding to an audio inquiry. The electronic computing device monitors audio communications transmitted between communication devices that are members of a talk group on a talk group channel. The electronic computing device detects an audio inquiry from a first communication device and generates an audio content response to be provided in response to the audio inquiry. The electronic computing device determines based on one or both of the audio inquiry and the audio content response, and as a function of the context information, that the audio content response is to be individually provided to the first communication device. The electronic computing device then establishes a private call with the first communication device and provides the audio content response to the first communication device via the private call.

INTERACTIVE ADVISORY SYSTEM FOR PRIORITIZING CONTENT
A method for passing content to at least one communicator device. The user of a communicator device registers with at least one service provider for delivering a plurality of different types of content to be passed to the at least one communicator device. A user defined priority is assigned to the at least one type of content. The user defined priority is stored on a computer readable medium. The different types of content are passed to the at least one communicator device based on the user defined priority.
Incident-centric mass notification system
An Incident-centric Mass Notification System (Incident-centric MNS system) for notifying a plurality of recipients of an Emergency Event is disclosed. The Incident-centric MNS system may include a Mass Notification System (MNS) Notification Engine, modality corridor (MoCo) dispatcher, and a plurality of modality corridors, wherein each modality corridor of the plurality of modality corridors establishes, for signal communication, a signal path from a plurality of signal paths, between the MNS Notification Engine and a recipient of the plurality of recipients. The MNS Notification Engine is configured to manage MNS Incidents and Notifications and the MoCo dispatcher is configured to select a first modality corridor from the plurality of modality corridors to establish a first signal path from the MNS Notification Engine.
