SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERSONALIZING A SHARED CONFERENCING DEVICE OR A SHARED PRINTER/SCANNER
A conferencing device receives an indication that a mobile device is in proximity to the conferencing device. The conferencing device receives information, directly from the mobile device, that indicates that the conferencing device is to establish or join a communication session with one or more communication endpoints. The information that indicates that the first conferencing device is to establish or join the communication session with the one or more communication endpoints is based on information that is personal to a user of the mobile device. Once the communication session is established, the conferencing device communicates with the one or more communication endpoints in the communication session. In an alternative embodiment, a printer/scanner can be managed based on personal information received directly from the mobile device.
Selective prioritization of voice over data
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are described herein for allowing a user or a service provider to selectively prioritize voice communications over data communications. By selectively prioritizing voice communications over data communications, the number of dropped calls in the mobile telecommunications network can be significantly reduced.
Methods for handling a connection status
A technique for handling a status of a connection for a call is provided. The connection has a signal path and a media path towards a terminating side. The signal path includes nodes at least some of which are to be informed of the status by a signal packet that is forwarded towards the terminating side of the connection on the signal path. One node inserts a media resource in the media path of the connection. The media resource provides media for announcing the status of the connection at the terminating side of the connection. The node includes in the signal packet, which signals the status to one or more of the nodes that are further towards the terminating side, a suppression indicator controlling suppression of media resource insertion at the one or more nodes. The node transmits the signal packet towards the terminating side on the signal path.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SWITCHING MULTI-PARTY CALL, AND MULTI-CHANNEL TERMINAL
A method and an apparatus for switching a multi-party call, and a terminal are provided. The method includes detecting whether a multi-party call realized on a current network side needs to be switched to a multi-party call realized on a terminal, or a multi-party call realized on a current terminal needs to be switched to a multi-party call realized on a network side; and the multi-party call realized on a terminal and the multi-party call realized on a network side can be switched to each other based on the detection result. Therefore, diversified requirements of scenes and users can be satisfied.
Framework for comprehensive monitoring and learning context of VoLTE call
A method, apparatus, and computer readable medium for managing a voice call in a wireless communication network. The method comprises collecting crowd-sourced data for a voice over long-term evolution (VoLTE) call quality metrics and contexts associated with a VoLTE call. The VoLTE call quality metrics and contexts comprise non-device information and device information. The method further comprises identifying accessible information based on the device information and the non-device information, predicting VoLTE call quality using the collected crowd-sourced data and the accessible information, and determining whether to place the voice call as or switch the voice call to a VoLTE call or a circuit-switched voice call based on comparison of the predicted VoLTE quality to a predetermined threshold.
Computer-Implemented System And Method For Delivery Of Group Messages
A computer-implemented system and method for delivering group messages is provided. Users signed on to a discussion group that is associated with a discussion group ID are identified. One of the signed-on users is designated as a moderator. A voice message is received and the discussion group ID is extracted from the voice message. The voice message is provided to the moderator and further provided to the signed-on users in the discussion group upon acceptance of the voice message by the moderator.
Avoiding formation of a call loop resulting from handling of a mobile terminated call in parallel with a location update in a wireless communication network
A call loop avoidance capability is provided for preventing formation of a call loop resulting from handling of a mobile terminated (MT) call in parallel with a location update for a mobile device (MD) in a wireless communication network. The call loop avoidance capability prevents formation of a call loop between an old mobility and call management entity (MCME) and a new MCME when delivery of an MT call to an MD is performed while the MD is in the process of moving from the old MCME to the new MCME using a location update procedure. An enhanced call routing procedure supports direct delivery of the MT call from the new MCME to the MD (rather than delivery of the MT call by the new MCME to the MD via the old MCME) in order to prevent formation of a call loop between the old MCME and the new MCME.
Computer-implemented system and method for delivery of group messages
A computer-implemented system and method for delivering group messages is provided. Users that are signed-on to and signed-off from one or more discussion groups are tracked. A voice message is received from one of the users signed-on to one of the discussion groups. A list of users associated with the discussion group is obtained and a sublist of signed-on users including those users from the list that are signed-on to the discussion group is built. The voice message is provided to the signed-on users of the discussion group and a copy of the voice message is stored for later access by the users in the discussion group that are signed-off.
Wireless communication relay apparatus, automatic response method in wireless communication relay apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable medium
A wireless communication relay apparatus (10) according to the present invention outputs, when there is an incoming call from a base station (30) (YES in Step S1) and the connection authentication between the wireless communication relay apparatus (10) and the wireless communication terminal (20) has not yet been completed (NO in Step S2), an instruction to start the connection authentication to the user as an in-apparatus incoming notification state (Step S21) and sends a message or a hold tone indicating that the connection authentication is currently being executed to a caller of the incoming call (Step S26). After that, when the connection authentication is completed (YES in Step S28), the incoming call is connected to the wireless communication terminal (20) (Step S3).
Base Station Grouping for Topology Hiding
A method for topology hiding is disclosed, comprising: receiving, at a gateway, the gateway positioned between a core network and a radio access network, a configuration information request from a base station; analyzing, at the gateway, a topology of the radio access network, the radio access network including the base station; grouping, at the gateway, the base station into a first group based on the topology; sending, from the gateway to the base station, a grouping message to indicate that the base station be placed in the first group; and terminating connections from the core network to one or more base stations in the first group at the gateway as a back-to-back proxy, thereby hiding the topology of the radio access network from the core network.
