Connector for weight lifting apparatus
A connector for a weightlifting apparatus, the weightlifting apparatus having a sliding rail, and slots or lateral protrusions, the connector comprising a main body slidably attached to the sliding rail, a support arm having a support surface and extending outwardly from the main body, a rotational latching device having first and second opposing ends, the first opposing end for engaging the slots or lateral protrusions, and the second opposing end comprising a recess for receiving a barbell in a form-fit connection to achieve a rotationally rigid coupling such that rotation of the barbell is transferred to the rotational latching device, and a barbell lock to releasably lock the barbell in the recess. The support surface supports the barbell during free weight exercise when the barbell is not locked in the barbell lock, and when the first opposing end is engaged with the slots or lateral protrusions.
Exercise weight selection device and method
A resistance component configured for imparting a resistive force to a connected exercise component is provided. The device includes a frame pivotally supporting a selection arm which has a weight operatively connected to the selection arm by a pin arm. The weight imparts a force resisting rotation of the selection arm by a flexible member engaged with the exercise component. Adjusting the engagement of one end of the pin arm to an arched engagement path along the selection arm adjusts mechanical advantage and the resistive force.
Weight stack isolator and selectorized machine incorporating the same
A weight stack isolator comprises an impact damper having a rail void therein configured to receive a guide rail of a selectorized machine. The impact damper is shaped to at least partially surround a section of the guide rail when received in the rail void, to secure the weight stack isolator to the selectorized machine. The weight stack isolator may include a slit extending from its outer perimeter to the rail void or the rail void may extend to the outer perimeter, to removably receive the guide rail in the rail void. The weight stack isolator can be positioned under a weight stack of the selectorized machine to absorb or dampen noise and vibration.
Repositioning point of actuation for an exercise appliance
An exercise machine comprises an arm support, including: a carriage configured to slide within a track attached to the exercise machine; and a support assembly that floats the carriage relative to the track, wherein the support assembly is disengaged by the application of force via the arm. An exercise machine comprises a rotatable column, wherein the column supports an arm, and a gear detent mechanism to support a discrete number of positions for the rotatable column. An exercise machine comprises a tiltable arm, and a mechanism to support a discrete number of positions for the tiltable arm.
Auto-adjustable weight device, system, and method
A physical training system includes a weight device having a weight retainer which receives one or more weight rods. The weight rods are selectively and removably retained within the weight retainer. A platform receives the weight device and carries one or more weight rods not selected and retained within the weight retainer. A software application is provided in communication with the platform or weight device and configured to drive selection and retention of the number of weight rods to be retained within the weight retainer. A database of selectable workout segments is also provided, wherein the software application selects and executes a selectable workout segment from the database of selectable workout segments simultaneously with the selection of one or more weight rods which are retained by the weight device.
Self-spotting bench press
A system and mechanism for a self-spotting bench press, and in particular, to a mechanism wherein a user that is bench pressing free weights can utilize to assist in lifting weights back on the bench's weight stand, without the aid of a spotter.

A suspension training based functional fitness element (11, 31) comprising: an essentially planar element (22) having an upper edge, a lower edge and two side edges, said planar element (22) being designed to form a pivotable connection to a support element (32) along said upper edge of the planar element (22), a first elongated element (23, 32, 52) connected to said planar element (22) at a first connection point at said lower edge of the planar element (22), a second elongated element (23, 32, 52) connected to said planar element (22) at a second connection point at said lower edge of the planar element (22), and a first and second handle (24), said first and second handle (24) being connected to said first and second elongated elements (23) respectively, whereby that said first and second connection points are arranged such that there is a horizontal offset between the first and second connection points and such that there is a vertical offset between the first connection point and the pivotable connection and a vertical offset between the second connection point and the pivotable connection.
COMPETITIVE WEIGHTLIFTING MACHINE AND METHODS FOR USING THE SAME
The present invention provides a competitive weightlifting system capable of interacting with and comparing weightlifting performances of multiple users, and creating competition between such users by displaying a ranked list of performances by those users. The system may include a frame for supporting and guiding a lift bar, sensors mounted to the frame for measuring and refereeing the performance of a user, a controller housed in the frame for tracking and ranking user performances with an interface for creating and logging into user profiles, and a communication device for sharing user performance data with other remote competitive weightlifting systems (e.g., competitive weightlifting systems in other gyms or homes) in order to create a wide-ranging competition between, and ranked leaderboard of, the many users.
Weightlifting machine
A weightlifting machine includes a carriage support, a carriage moveably mounted on the carriage support and configured to move along the carriage support, and a locking mechanism that is moveable between a locking position, where the locking mechanism engages the carriage and supports the carriage at an elevated position above a lowermost position of the carriage, and a release position, where the locking mechanism does not engage the carriage, and the carriage is free to move below the elevated position.
SPACER SYSTEM FOR A WEIGHT LIFTING APPARATUS
A spacer apparatus for maximizing a user's range of motion on a weightlifting exercise machine. The spacer apparatus includes a first interlocking part having a semi-circular body extending between top and bottom portions, and a lock portion extending between first and second ends of the semi-circular body. The first and second ends are spaced and a keyway is between the first and second ends. The spacer apparatus includes a second interlocking part having a body extending, at least partially, between first and second ends, and entirely between top and bottom portions. The body of the second interlocking part has a semi-circular portion with a key portion extending therefrom. In the interlocked configuration, the key portion extends between the keyway such that an outer perimeter of the first interlocking part and an outer perimeter of the second interlocking part are aligned.
