ELECTRONIC DEVICE, STORAGE MEDIUM, AND DEVICE SETTING SYSTEM CAPABLE OF LIMITING REFLECTION OF DEVICE SETTINGS
An electronic device that cooperates with a device cooperation system, the electronic device being configured to: from a code in which setting information for the electronic device is embedded, read the setting information; reflect the setting information read from the code to the electronic device when registration of the electronic device is requested to the device cooperation system and the device cooperation system has already registered or newly registered the electronic device; and refrain from reflecting the setting information read from the code to the electronic device when registration of the electronic device is requested to the device cooperation system and the device cooperation system has neither already registered nor newly registered the electronic device.
System and method for identifying a genuine printed document
A system and method for verifying that a document is included in a document management system is disclosed. This system and method includes scanning of a scan track of a document, generating document data dependently upon the scanning, comparing the generated document data to stored document data, the stored document data generated dependently upon a prior scanning of the scan track of the document, and outputting an indication of the document being included in the document management system as determined by the comparing.
Image scanning device and method, image reading apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable medium that set a scanning area based on a detected location of a code image
An image scanning device includes a detector and a setter. The detector scans an image in units of pages, and detects a code image included in the image in units of pages. When the detector detects the code image on one page and then detects the code image on another page, the setter sets a scanning area on a subsequent page following the other page in accordance with a position of the code image detected on the one page and a position of the code image detected on the other page.
Note capture device
Various example embodiments provide a note capture device comprising a writing surface, a camera mounted to view the writing surface, and electronic circuitry to capture images of said surface, or various alternative surfaces, including for example, a business card surface. Notes are captured upon a determination of completion of the note writing, and either stored or forwarded to an external device, or both. Handwriting recognition software is provided to enhance searchability of captured notes. Application software embodied on various devices provides the ability to view, browse, share, search and edit captured notes and associated data.
System and method for metallic object detection in a media transport system
A system and method of detecting the presence of metallic objects in media to be conveyed in a medium transport system is disclosed. One or more metal detectors are included in the medium transport system to detect the presence of metal in the medium being transported. Signals from the metal detectors are sent to a system processor, which analyzes the signals, and produces proximity, duration, and/or intensity values therefrom. One or more microphones may also be included which detect the sound created as the medium is being transported. The processor computes sound values from the microphone signals, and analyzes the computed sound values along with the proximity, duration, and/or intensity values in order determine if the conveyance of the medium along the transport path should be stopped due to the presence of metal in the media or a jam occurring within the medium transport path.
Data output apparatus, method of controlling same and output system
In an image output apparatus for outputting an image supplied from an image supply apparatus, the image supply apparatus and the image output apparatus are connected wirelessly and send and receive data. The state of the wireless connection is determined and the image to be output is changed in accordance with the determined state of the connection.
Handheld imaging device incorporating multi-core image processor
A handheld imaging device includes an image sensor for sensing an image; a processor for processing the sensed image; a plurality of processing units provided in the processor, the plurality of processing units connected in parallel by a crossbar switch to form a multi-core processing unit for the processor; and an image sensor interface for converting signals from the image sensor to a format readable by the plurality of processing units, the image sensor interface sharing a wafer substrate with the processor. A transfer of data from the image sensor interface to the plurality of processing units is conducted entirely on the shared wafer substrate.
INTEGRATED MOBILE PARKING AND ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM
A software application executing on a parking enforcement officer's (PEO's) computing device (e.g. smart phone, tablet, laptop or personal computer) communicates with a central computing system networked with a plurality of smart parking meters, directs the PEO to the location of a violation, and facilitates generation of a parking citation to be issued by the PEO, wherein the citation has at least some of the data fields prefilled.
Handheld imaging device with VLIW image processor
A handheld imaging device includes an image sensor for sensing an image: a Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) processor for processing the sensed image; a plurality of processing units provided in the VLIW processor, the plurality of processing units connected in parallel by a crossbar switch to form a multi-core processing unit for the VLIW processor; and an image sensor interface for receiving signals from the image sensor and converting the signals to a format readable by the VLIW processor, the image sensor interface sharing a wafer substrate with the VLIW processor. A transfer of data from the image sensor interface to the VLIW processor is conducted entirely on the shared wafer substrate.
Multi-core image processor for portable device
A portable handheld device including a CPU for processing a script; a multi-core processor for processing an image; an input buffer for receiving data for processing by the multi-core processor, the input buffer being provided under the control of the multi-core processor to send data thereto; and an output buffer for receiving data processed by the multi-core processor, the output buffer being provided under the control of the multi-core processor to receive data therefrom. The multi-core processor comprises a plurality of micro-coded processing units. The CPU is configured with authority to clear and query the input and output buffers.
