In a case where a setting that is a target of a first control is set in a print setting, the first control is performed, whereas in a case where the setting that is the target of the first control is not set in the print setting, the first control is not performed. The first control is performed to change an orientation of a drawing data such that the drawing data is printed on a sheet in an orientation with a bottom side and a top side of the drawing data respectively corresponding to a downstream side and an upstream side of the sheet in a conveyance direction of conveying the sheet to a printing apparatus that performs print processing to print the drawing data.

An information processing apparatus includes: a processor is configured to: read an image of at least one of a first surface or a second surface of a medium with the medium folded; discriminate whether the image is of the first surface or the second surface based on an identification image in the image; specify, based on the image, a surface on which a folding deviation occurs; and determine a correction direction of the folding deviation according to whether the surface on which the folding deviation occurs is the first surface or the second surface.

An image forming apparatus includes: a folder configured to fold a medium by forming a fold such that a side of the medium is aligned with a predetermined first position on the medium; and an image forming device configured to form a first image on a region different from a region located within a predetermined range from the first position, on at least a part of the side of the medium before the medium is folded by the folder.

In a printing system capable of supplying a sheet of a job having undergone print processing by the printing unit of a printing apparatus to a post-processing unit capable of executing at least a specific type of post-processing among a plurality of types of post-processes, when the target job requires the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is inhibited from executing print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by a user using a user interface unit. When the target job does not require the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is permitted to execute print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by the user using the user interface unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a printer engine configured to print a print image on a recording sheet based on image data, a post-processing device configured to perform post-processing on the recording sheet having the print image, and circuitry configured to perform following operation. The circuitry is configured to acquire print setting information; acquire information on a post-processing capability; generate a predicted image representing a state of the recording sheet applied with the post-processing, based on the image data, the print setting information, and the information on the post-processing capability; and display the predicted image.

A printing system includes a printing apparatus that prints an image on a sheet, a sheet processer that executes sheet processing, and a sheet detection sensor that detects a sheet on which the sheet processing is performed not in association with the printing of an image, where the printing of an image is restricted in response to detection of a sheet by the sheet detection sensor.

An information processing apparatus includes: a processor is configured to: read an image of at least one of a first surface or a second surface of a medium with the medium folded; discriminate whether the image is of the first surface or the second surface based on an identification image in the image; specify, based on the image, a surface on which a folding deviation occurs; and determine a correction direction of the folding deviation according to whether the surface on which the folding deviation occurs is the first surface or the second surface.

A binding processing device includes: a binding processing element that advances a binding tooth to a sheet to perform binding processing of the sheet; and a processor that performs control of drying a bound part of the sheet after the binding processing of the sheet by the binding processing element is performed.

A determination device (1) includes a first storage unit (10), a determination unit (12), an input unit (13), and an update unit (14). The first storage unit (10) stores one or more processing rules of a post-printing processor (4) predetermined based on processing know-how for a post-printing process. The input unit (13) receives input of information about an update of the processing rules. The update unit (14) updates the processing rules stored in the first storage unit based on the input of information about the update of the processing rules. The determination unit (12) determines whether a post-printing processing instruction information generated by a pre-printing processor (2) satisfies the one or more processing rules.
