A display control apparatus includes an acquisition unit that acquires image data, a memory that saves a display time of an image indicated by the image data acquired by the acquisition unit and a display cycle of the image indicated by the image data in association with each other, a setting unit that, if the acquisition unit newly acquires image data, sets the display time and the display cycle of the image indicated by the newly acquired image data, in response to a number of images to be displayed, and the display times and the display cycles of the images to be displayed, a display that causes an external apparatus to display the display time and the display cycle of the image indicated by the newly acquired image data and set by the setting unit, a receiving unit that receives a modification of each of the display time and the display cycle displayed on the external apparatus, and a display controller that causes the display to display the image, indicated by the image data newly acquired by the acquisition unit, in accordance with the display time and the display cycle received by the receiving unit.

Systems and methods are disclosed for directed image capture of a subject of interest, such as a home. Directed image capture can produce higher quality images such as more centrally located within a display and/or viewfinder of an image capture device, higher quality images have greater value for subsequent uses of captured images such as for information extraction or model reconstruction. Graphical guide(s) facilitate content placement for certain positions and quality assessments for the content of interest can be calculated such as for pixel distance of the content of interest to a centroid of the display or viewfinder, or the effect of obscuring objects. Quality assessments can further include instructions for improving the quality of the image capture for the content of interest.

An image processing apparatus includes circuitry to receive visible image data obtained by reading of a subject with a sensor having sensitivity to visible light in a visible wavelength range and invisible image data obtained by reading of the subject with a sensor having sensitivity to invisible light in an invisible wavelength range. When a photographer takes photos as requested in a shot list, the photos are automatically assigned a quality score which correlates to how prominently the photo would be displayed in an online search. The photos and the quality scores are displayed to the photographer so that when the photographer has shot a sufficiently high quality photo then the photographer can stop shooting. Photos with the highest quality scores are optimal. The shot lists include reference photos, and if a new photo has a higher quality score than the corresponding reference photo, the new photo becomes the reference photo.

A method for an information processing apparatus capable of executing an application that runs on an operating system includes determining whether data is writable by the application into a folder associated with the application, instructing the operating system to display a screen for permitting the application to write the data into the folder in a case where it is determined that the data is not writable into the folder associated with the application, the screen being a screen using Storage Access Framework (SAF), and writing the data into the folder, wherein, at a time of the writing, the data is written into the folder into which the application is permitted to write the data by an operation accepted on the screen.
