Image reading apparatus, image reading method, and non-transitory computer readable medium

An image is read from a recording medium via first and second optical imaging systems disposed such that respective reading regions partially overlap each other in a principal scanning direction on a reading surface. A sum of distances over which first and second images captured by the first and second optical imaging systems, respectively, are displaced in the principal scanning direction with respect to a reference point included in a region in which the reading regions overlap each other is calculated. First and second distances, over which the first and second images are displaced in the principal scanning direction, respectively, are calculated using the sum and first and second reading angles at which the first and second optical imaging systems, respectively, read the reference point. Positions of the first image and the second image in the principal scanning direction are corrected using the first distance and the second distance, respectively.

Image stitching from multiple line scanners

Methods and systems for blending line image data streams from a film scanner are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is provided including receiving multiple data streams from line scan sensors. An overlap position may then be initially selected, which forms an overlap position between two of the data streams. A difference measure may then be calculated between the two data streams within the overlap area. The overlap positions may then be iteratively altered between a plurality of overlap positions, and additional difference measures may be computed for each overlap position. A blending position may then be selected from the plurality of overlap positions, which may correspond to the overlap position with the smallest difference measure. The data streams may then be blended at the selected blending position.

GLOBAL ADJUSTMENT OF LUMINANCE AND CHROMINANCE CONSISTENCY AMONG MULTIPLE IMAGES
20170352138 · 2017-12-07 ·

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for globally adjusting luminance and/or chrominance consistency among multiple images. The methods may include sorting a plurality of images in an order, such that: adjacent images at least partially overlap with each other; and the first image and the last image at least partially overlap with each other. The methods may also include determining mean pixel values for overlapping region of the images. The methods may also include determining consistency factors for the images. The methods may also include generating modified mean pixel values by multiplying the mean pixel values by the respective consistency factors. The methods may also include adjusting the consistency factors to reduce differences of the modified mean pixel values in the overlapping regions. The methods may further include adjusting pixel values of the images based on the respective consistency factors.

Method and process of making camouflage patterns

A pattern for camouflage and a method for making the pattern. The method includes taking photographic images from the perspective of the selected animal or bird. In one embodiment, the photographic image can be taken from above so as to create a finite background within the selected environment. In another embodiment, the pattern is adapted to be seamlessly repeatable across a surface. The method includes placing desired harvested abstracts into the photographic scene to obtain the overall desired effect of the camouflage pattern including color, composition, depth and repeat. The method also includes taking multiple photographs of the same scene from the same exact spot focusing on different parts of the photographic scene to add clarity to certain portions of the images, enhance depth, and reach desired color palate. The method includes adjusting the color of objects, including water within the photographic scene, to reflect true color of objects absent outside conditions.

IMAGE ACQUISITION APPARATUS

An image acquisition apparatus including: a stage on which a specimen is mounted; an objective lens that collects light from the specimen; a stage driving part that drives the stage; an image capturing unit that acquires an image by photographing the light collected by the objective lens; an image-generating unit that generates a pasted image by pasting the captured image acquired by the image capturing unit; a storage unit that stores the pasted image; a color-difference calculating unit that calculates a degree of dissimilarity between a color of the pasted image and a color of the captured image prior to pasting; and a color-difference correcting unit that corrects the color of the captured image so as to match the color of the pasted image, on the basis of the calculated degree of dissimilarity.

Even from a plurality of small documents, their front-side and back-side images to be formed on a recording paper sheet, with alignment and coincidence of the front-side and back-side images of each document between the front and back sides of the recording paper sheet. In an image forming apparatus, an image processing section detects a front-side image of an original document from a scan area read in a first scan by an image reading section, detects a back-side image of the original document from a scan area read in a second scan, and moves or rotates the front-side image and the back-side image of the original document in terms of a whole image of the scan area so that the front-side image and the back-side image of the original document are brought into alignment and coincidence between a front side and a back side of a recording paper sheet.

DETERMINING COORDINATES OF SCAN BARS

In one example, a document scanner having a document-receiving platen. The platen includes a plurality of alignment patterns disposed on the platen at known positions in a coordinate system. The scanner includes overlapping staggered scan bars disposed adjacent the platen, each scan bar fixed at a position to image a one-dimensional slice of a corresponding one of the alignment patterns. The scanner further includes a controller to determine, from the imaged slice, X and Y coordinates of each corresponding scan bar within the coordinate system.

An image scanning apparatus includes a display unit, a scan unit configured to continuously generate a first scan image and a second scan image, and a processor configured to compare the generated first scan image and second scan image and determine whether the first scan image and the second scan image are scan images with respect to the a same original, and in response to determining that the first scan image and the second scan image are scan images with respect to a same original, control the display unit to display a notification message.

Image set alignment

A computer-implemented method for aligning a set of images which have shared structural characteristics, such as images of an official document. The method comprises acquiring image data comprising a set of images and applying, using a first deep neural network, at least one image transform to the image data to form aligned image data in which each image of the set of images is substantially aligned with a template image. Then, the aligned image data is compressed and the image data reconstructed from the compressed image data, and a set of aligned images is output from the reconstructed image data. The set of aligned images may be annotated for automated official document authentication.
