An image reading device includes: an FB glass; a sensor module having a light source and a plurality of sensors; and an image processor that generates correction data to be used for shading correction and performs the shading correction on image signals by using the correction data. The plurality of sensors is arranged in a main scanning direction and is configured to form an image signal on a single line. The image processor acquires second black data by causing the plurality of sensors to acquire an image signal of a reference sheet placed on the FB glass with the light source turned on, and generates black correction data based on the second black data. By performing the shading correction by using the black correction data, the image processor corrects density unevenness, in an image, caused by interference between image signals from the plurality of sensors.

An image reading device includes: an FB glass; a sensor module having a light source and a plurality of sensors; and an image processor that generates correction data to be used for shading correction and performs the shading correction on image signals by using the correction data. The plurality of sensors is arranged in a main scanning direction and is configured to form an image signal on a single line. The image processor acquires second black data by causing the plurality of sensors to acquire an image signal of a reference sheet placed on the FB glass with the light source turned on, and generates black correction data based on the second black data. By performing the shading correction by using the black correction data, the image processor corrects density unevenness, in an image, caused by interference between image signals from the plurality of sensors.

An image reading apparatus includes a line sensor configured to read an image of a target object. The line sensor includes light receiving element arrays arranged at given intervals in a second direction perpendicular to a first direction for a plurality of lines, the plurality of light receiving element arrays each including a first light receiving element configured to receive light of a first color and a second light receiving element configured to receive light of a second color different from the first color, which are arranged in the first direction to form one line. The image reading apparatus is configured to derive a shading correction coefficient for shading correction based on output from the light receiving element arrays that have read a reference white plate, and to identify, as an abnormal pixel, a pixel obtained by reading a foreign matter existing on the reference white plate.

Provided is an image reading apparatus including: a line sensor including three light receiving element arrays arranged at a predetermined interval in a sub-scanning direction, and being configured to read an image of an original by the respective light receiving element arrays to generate read data representing the read image, the three light receiving element arrays each including light receiving elements for receiving red light, blue light and green light. These elements are arranged in a main scanning direction; and a reading control board. The reading control board is configured to acquire the read data obtained by the respective light receiving element arrays from the line sensor, to sort a plurality of pieces of read data for every pixel of the same color, and to detect an abnormal pixel that does not exist in the image of the original for each color.

An image reading apparatus includes a stacking unit, a conveyance unit to convey stacked sheets, a reading unit, a white reference plate provided in a second position, and a processor. The processor generates, based on a plate reading result, a shading correction value and corrects the image data using the shading correction value. Based on whether the number of times in which reading the white reference plate has been performed is less than a predetermined number of times, the reading unit changes a time interval in a reading period that is from a first timing to a second timing. The processor generates, each time the white reference plate is read, the shading correction value based on the plate reading results.

A read sensor generates front side image information indicating an image on a front side of an object to be read, and front side measurement information indicating a line of an image in a main scanning direction on the front side of a correction chart. A read sensor generates back side image information indicating an image on a back side of the object to be read, and back side measurement information indicating a line of an image in the main scanning direction on the back side of the correction chart. The image correction device calculates an amount of misalignment of read positions based on the front side measurement information and the back side measurement information, and corrects misalignment of images on the front side and the back side of the object to be read, indicated by the front side image information and the back side image information.

The image correction device calculates an amount of misalignment of read positions based on the front side measurement information and the back side measurement information, and corrects misalignment of images on the front side and the back side of the object to be read, indicated by the front side image information and the back side image information.
