Device to produce assisted, active and resisted motion of a joint or extremity
A device for producing assisted motion, active motion, and resisted motion of the lower extremity. The device includes an upper leg support with two pull handles and a transverse axis of rotation for elevating and lowering the user's upper leg and a foot plate with a transverse axis of rotation and rollers on linear motion track(s) allowing the lower extremity to be secured into the device while maximizing range of motion of the knee joint. The upper leg support and the foot plate are both attached to the baseboard, but are not connected to each other and can move independently of each other, allowing the device to be used in multiple positions and to fit a wide range of lower extremity sizes without the need for the device to be adjusted or custom fit to the user's lower extremity.
Lower body exercise device
An exercise device includes a resilient compression member configured to resist a compressive force from a user, and a resilient tension member configured to couple to opposing sides of the compression member. The resilient tension member is also configured to form a first portion of a loop around the compression member and the user, and resist a tensile force from the user. The exercise device also includes an extension member configured to connect with opposing ends of the tension member to form a second portion of the loop around the compression member and the user.
Walking training system, harness, and operation method
A walking training system, a harness, and an operation method capable of performing training effectively are provided. A walking training system according to an embodiment includes a harness attached to a trainee's trunk and a pulling unit configured to apply a pulling force to the harness, the harness includes a frame fixed to the trainee's trunk, an attaching member to which the pulling unit is attached, and a guide mechanism configured to enable a position of the frame relative to the attaching member to be variable in an up/down direction.
Portable system and apparatus for dynamometry, exercise, and rehabilitation
A portable system for dynamometry, exercise, and rehabilitation comprises a base, a detachable servomotor assembly, an embedded control system, and a physical human-machine interface for securing a human limb into a stabilized position for use in a repeatable and ambidextrous manner. In another embodiment, the portable system includes a power source and a user interface subsystem for selecting operative modes and input parameters and for real-time processing, display, and storage of the values collected by the system during operation. In another embodiment, a method for determining strength of an isolated muscle group of a human joint is disclosed. The method includes the steps of mounting and securing a detachable servomotor assembly of a portable dynamometer upon a surface and securing the human joint to be tested into a stable position with an adjustable, ambidextrous distal limb attachment assembly for use of the portable dynamometer in a readily repeatable manner.
Flexible Resistance Articles, Systems, Kits, and Methods
Flexible resistance articles, systems, kits, and methods of assembly and use. A flexible resistance article is configured to flexibly and resistively accommodate and secure a portion of a resistance band therein for use during resistance exercises, such as strength training and physical therapy. The article includes a middle panel flexibly attached to a first flap and a second flap which are securable by a fastener in a closed configuration to hold the resistance band therein. The fastener may be detached to transition the article from the closed configuration to an open configuration to remove the article from the resistance band. The article protects the user from an uncomfortable or irritable contact with the resistance band and provides a grip resistance to the user when the user grips the article and may be used to increase grasp strength of the user.
Body Suspension Exercise Device
The present invention relates to a body suspension exercise device primarily comprised of at least one pad, at least one strap, at least one ring with at least one mounting bracket and at least one clip, and at least one rope. In the preferred embodiment, the device has a plurality of pads attached to one another in a radial fashion, wherein the ring encloses the pads. A user can insert their legs into the pads, wherein the pads can then be tightened by the strap. The ring further receives a rope that allows the device to be suspended from an object or structure. Therefore, a user can suspend their legs using the device and perform a plurality of core, abdominal, and upper body exercises
ADJUSTABLE RESISTANCE BAND AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
An adjustable resistance band for exercise or physical therapy apparatus including a webbing hook component, strap and slots with openings for adjustability in which the band is easily secured around the user's legs or torso by placing the webbing hook in one of the loop openings.
MODULAR EXERCISE SYSTEM
A system for constructing exercise devices comprises a support frame, a first stanchion, a second stanchion, a knee-pad attachment, a thigh-pad attachment, a roller-pad attachment, and a multi-purpose bar. The system can be assembled in different configurations to allow a user to perform different exercises such as back hyperextensions, sissy squats, Nordic curls, sit ups, and hip thrusters.
Method and apparatus for augmented locomotion
Provided are apparatuses for augmenting human speed, human-driven compliant mechanisms, artificial limbs to augment human movement, and the like. The apparatuses can include variable stiffness mechanisms including springs that can be configured to selectively store and subsequently release energy generated by human movement. The apparatuses can selectively release the captured energy supplied by the human to provide force and power output beyond the physical capability of the human.
