Provided is a digital mat system for managing and analyzing cognitive and physical abilities of a user that is capable of managing and analyzing individual cognitive and physical abilities of a user (particularly the elderly) and providing a customized solution that matches individual abilities, thereby assisting in preventing geriatric diseases, such as falling and dementia.

A somatosensation and proprioceptor stimulation surface configured to stimulate rapid-firing nerves in the receptive field of a user's glabrous skin. The somatorsensation and proprioceptor stimulation surface includes a plurality of protuberances disposed thereupon, each protuberance sized and spaced apart appropriately to impress the receptive field when pressed in contact with the glabrous skin of the user. Each protuberance widens from an apex toward a base whereby increased pressure applied to the surface increases an area of contact and stimulation by applying stimulation over a larger area of skin. The protuberances are spaced apart to maximize stimulation of rapid firing nerves while lessening overstimulation. The somatosensation and proprioceptor stimulation surface is rendered in the form of a mat or floor covering and alternatively as an insole for wear in a user's shoes.

An exercise system may include an exercise mat; sensors integrated into the exercise mat, each of the sensors configured to sense when a force is applied to a respective portion of the exercise mat; and displays coupled to the exercise mat and configured to display indications corresponding to desired locations for body parts of a user in accordance with an exercise routine. On one or more of the displays, indications corresponding to desired locations of a user's body part may be displayed in accordance with a form of one of stored exercise routines; and one or more of the sensors may sense an application of force to the exercise mat. One or more of the displays may display at least one marker identifying a direction from a location of the sensed application of force to a display location of the at least one of the indications.

An exercise support structure includes a knee support having a tiered recess with a bottom wall, a lower circular tier, and an upper egg-shaped tier; and a wrist support having a tiered support structure with a bottom wall, a lower egg-shaped tier and an upper circular tier, where the knee support and the wrist support are complementary in shape and are interfittingly received in mated relation to form a block.The edges of the tiers may be beveled, forming a smooth transition therebetween.The structure may be made from a soft, durable resilient material, such as foam, silicone gel, rubber, synthetic rubber, or organic tree sap.

The present invention is a shaped yoga mat and methods of using the inventive yoga mat that are directed towards instructing children. The inventive yoga mats have a flat center and a fringe area extending away laterally. The fringe area can be cut or trimmed into a variety of shapes that appeal to children, such as an animal or vehicle. A yoga instructor can then use the uniquely shaped yoga mats to spark a child's imagination through the use of exercises with a theme related to the yoga mats.

A versatile exercise bench includes a padded support board secured to a tubular rectangular frame. A pair of sloped legs is affixed to longitudinal frame members to support the bench above a floor and to facilitate stacking unused benches for storage. In some embodiments, the footpads comprise one or more pressure sensors. The system can comprise one or more position sensors on a ball, and one or more position sensors removably attachable to a hand-held sports instrument. In some embodiments, the system can comprise a memory, communicatively coupled to a processor and a camera, with executable instructions to implement a set-up component, a user recognition component, a practice component, and instructional component, and a play component.

Dropping a weight onto a weight lifting drop bag allows a weight lifter to drop a weight onto a floor with minimal damage to the floor, with minimal noise, and without any bouncing of the weight. The bag is a flexible enclosure filled with resilient pellets. The bag has a generally flat or slightly concave upper surface, a length of about two to eight feet, a width of about one and one-half to four feet, and a height of about two to twelve inches.

An exercise mat is provided having a top surface having a plurality of top grooves spanning a width of a mat body and a bottom surface having a plurality of bottom grooves spanning the width of the mat body. The mat body is formed from a single piece of material, and the top grooves extend from the top surface towards the bottom surface and the bottom grooves extend from the bottom surface towards the top surface. The mat body is then foldable along the top and bottom grooves in opposite directions. The mat body has a thickness from the top surface to the bottom surface of more than 6 mm. Also provided is a method for exercising using the exercise mat.

The present disclosure provides an exercise mat including a top surface and bottom surface, wherein a plurality of markings exist on the top surface. As used herein, an exercise mat is a substantially flat cushion-like structure which can be used in conjunction with exercises. The exercise mat may be used for exercise or recreational activities such as physical therapy, pilates, yoga, or any other activity where physical placement of the user's body on the exercise mat may be important for the performance of the exercise, evaluation of physical progress, and/or for the avoidance of injuries.
