An activity is provided for promoting the development of one or more of foot strength, motor skills, balance, and sensory awareness. In one example, an activity mat comprises a body portion comprising a foam, the body portion having a first density, and one or more surface features included on a top surface of the body portion, wherein at least one of the one or more surface features has a second density, the second density different than the first density. Each of the one or more surface features may be either raised or recessed relative to the top surface of the activity mat providing an uneven surface with variable density.

A device adapted to adhere to a yoga mat comprises a body comprising a convex portion and a planar portion, and an adhesive element on the planar portion for adhering the body to the yoga mat.

A yoga pad includes a base layer having a first side and a second side, and each of the first and second sides has multiple grooves defined therein so as to define sections separated by the grooves. Each groove has an inner bottom, and two ramp portions extend from two sides of each of the inner bottom. Each section has a flat portion which is connected between the two ramp portions corresponding thereto. A netted layer is attached to at least one of the first side and the second side, and has multiple apertures. A method for making a yoga pad includes a step of preparing a netted base; a step of cutting the netted base into two adhesive units; a step of attaching a foam pad to the netted layer of one of the adhesive layers; and a step of adhering a towel to the C-shaped resilient members of the adhesive layer to form a yoga pad. The C-shaped resilient members are combined with the fibers on the towel in axial direction so that the foam pad is detachably connected to the towel. The fibers of the towel are engaged with the openings of the free ends of the C-shaped resilient members to provide a resistance in lateral direction to the towel which does not easily shift relative to the foam pad.

There is accordingly provided a yoga mat assembly. The assembly has a length. The assembly comprises a yoga mat. The assembly comprises a moisture-absorbent covering member shaped to extend over top of the yoga mat. The assembly comprises a plurality of fasteners spaced-apart apart along the length of the assembly at peripheral portions thereof. The fasteners selectively fasten the yoga mat and the covering member together.

Methods and apparatus for authorizing use of a mat processing device are disclosed. The disclosed process requests and receives a public customer identifier. If the public identifier is not on a “required” list, the process authorizes a mat processing despite payment not yet being confirmed and no private information being. If the public customer identifier is recognized by the system, the process requests and receives a private customer identifier, even though the mat processing has already been authorized. If the private identifier is associated with the public identifier, the customer's account is debited for the mat processing. If the private identifier does not correspond to the public identifier, and optionally an additional user confirmation attempt fails, the public identifier is placed on the “required” list, so subsequent attempts will not receive a “free” mat processing.

Methods and apparatus for delivering a message to mat processing user are disclosed. The disclosed process determines a mat processing metric based on typical yoga frequency information and a recorded number of mat processings for a user. The disclosed process then selects a communication channel, dynamically generates message content, and selects a delivery time based on the mat processing metric, A/B testing and/or user demographics. The disclosed process then delivers the message content at the delivery time to the user via the selected communication.
