Personal Security System and Method
A personal safety system comprising: a personal electronic device carried by an individual having one or more sensors for recording visual and/or audio data associated with the individual; at least one external service nominated by the individual to be in electronic communication with the personal electronic device to receive and store the recorded visual and/or audio data from the personal electronic device in real time for monitoring purposes; and wherein, the visual and/or audio data is continuously recorded in discrete predetermined intervals by the personal electronic device and at the completion of each discrete predetermined interval the visual and/or audio data for that discrete predetermined interval is transmitted to the external service together with data capturing the time and location of the individual, and following transmission of the visual and/or audio data, the data is deleted from the personal electronic device.
Image recognition sporting event entry system and method
A system and method for image recognition registration of an athlete into a sporting event. The athlete is registered in the sporting event using image recognition technology. A digital commencement image of the athlete taken by a camera (106) as the athlete crosses a starting line. The digital commencement image is compared with a stored profile image of the athlete to identify the athlete and enter them into the event without the need for the athlete to pre-register for the particular event. Enhanced recognition techniques incorporating pattern recognition may be used to increase identity accuracy.
Event based monitoring of a person
In some instances, a person may need monitoring. The monitoring may be based on age, or on other factors such as abilities and functionality. The monitoring may enable a supervising person to remotely receive updates regarding the subject person. The supervising person may enter in various biometric parameters to monitor. The supervising person may alternatively and/or additionally set other factors to monitor such as time of day, location, activity level, and the like. The monitoring may provide peace of mind to a supervising person to ensure the subject person is safe. In some embodiments, the supervising person may set various alarm thresholds. The alarm thresholds may trigger an alert to the supervising person. In alternative embodiments, if the subject person is a grown person without a supervising person in the same vicinity, a security and/or automation system may act as the supervising adult.
METHOD FOR OPERATING AT LEAST ONE IMAGE SENSOR
A method of operating at least one image sensor that records an image content with a recording direction. The method includes the following steps: a) determining at least one piece of information about an expected main direction of movement of an expected movement in at least a portion of an image content to be recorded relative to the image sensor, b) setting the recording direction taking into account the expected main direction of movement, c) recording at least a portion of the image content with the recording direction.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPPORTUNISTIC IMAGING
A system for opportunistic imaging includes an imaging device that generates data comprising a plurality of sequential image frames. The system also includes a control module that causes the imaging device to generate standard-resolution image frames at a standard-frame rate and a standard-resolution, such that there is a processing time lull between the generation of sequential standard-resolution image frames. The control module also causes the imaging device to generate one or more burst-resolution image frames at a burst-frame rate and a burst-resolution within the processing time lull.
Method for monitoring occupancy in a work area
One variation of a method for monitoring occupancy in a work area includes, at a sensor block: transitioning from an inactive state into an active state when an output of a motion sensor indicates motion in a work area; during a scan cycle in the active state, recording an image through an optical sensor at a time, detecting a set of humans in the image, detecting a second set of human effects in the image, predicting a second set of humans occupying but absent the work area based on the second set of human effects, and estimating a total occupancy in the work area at the time based on the set of humans and the second set of humans; and transmitting the total occupancy to a remote computer system for update of a scheduler for the work area.
DISPLAY APPARATUS AND OPERATING METHOD OF THE SAME
A display apparatus may include: a camera; a display; a memory storing one or more instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to: analyze an image captured by the camera and detect a free space included in the image; determine an exercise motion performable in the free space, based on the detected free space; and control the display to output exercise content based on the determined exercise motion.
Electrical power cable preparation system
Electrical power cable preparation techniques to connect to cable accessories for use in a power grid are described. In an example, a system comprises a cross-section sensing module. The cross-section sensing module comprises a camera configured to capture at least one image of an end-face of an electrical cable, a housing configured to position the end-face of the electrical cable substantially perpendicular to an optical axis of the camera and at an imaging distance from the camera, and at least one optical marker configured to indicate a diameter of the electrical cable. The system further comprises an electrical cable preparation device configured to cut at least one layer of an electrical cable, and a computing device configured to display a user interface, the user interface configured to accept user inputs controlling at least one setting of the cross-section sensing module and electrical cable preparation device.
CONTROL DEVICE OF LIFTING PLATFORM FOR DETECTION DEVICE AND DETECTION DEVICE
Provided are a detection device and a control device of a lifting platform thereof, wherein the control device is used for controlling the lifting platform of the detection device, wherein the control device comprises a first distance measuring sensor arranged on the top of the detection device; a first processor connected with the first distance measuring sensor and used for obtaining a first distance measurement instruction and controlling the first distance measuring sensor to measure a first distance between the top of the detection device and an obstacle directly above the detection device according to the first distance measurement instruction; the first processor is further used for obtaining the first distance sent by the first distance measuring sensor, generating an elevation instruction according to the first distance, and controlling a lifting motor of the detection device to drive the lifting platform to rise to the target position.
Carwash queue management system with license plate recognition and method of operating the carwash queue management system
A method of operating a carwash includes driving a vehicle to a point of sale station of the carwash, purchasing a carwash transaction, and taking a first picture of a license plate number of the vehicle after the completion of the purchase of the carwash transaction at the point of sale station. The license plate number is associated with the carwash transaction as a carwash ticket. The vehicle is then sent to a carwash queue disposed downstream of the point of sale station. The carwash ticket information is sent to a carwash tunnel. A second picture of the license plate number of the vehicle is taken right as it approaches the carwash tunnel. The license plate number is associated with the carwash ticket and the vehicle is washed according to a wash dictated by the carwash ticket.
