A shared workstation apparatus with converging treadmills including treadmills with centerlines that are transversely oriented towards each other at an angle, which can for example be an acute angle. The shared workstation includes a frame, a first treadmill, a second treadmill, and at least one shared work surface located above the treadmills. The orientation of the treadmills and the shared work surface allows users to share work with each other across the shared work space.

A treadmill and a control method for controlling the treadmill belt thereof are provided. The treadmill includes a treadmill belt, a first sensor, an image sensor, and a controller. The first sensor retrieves a light pattern or the image sensor measures the characteristic properties of the image of the user so as to control the treadmill belt. The light pattern can be generated by a signal member, which can be disposed on a side or both sides of the treadmill belt.

The methods, systems, and apparatus include an action of receiving device capability information for multiple devices. The device capability information from each device describes capabilities of the device. Additional actions include receiving an indication of a health goal of a user and receiving health information of the user sensed by a first device of the multiple devices. Further actions include generating a health related instruction for a second device of the multiple devices based on the health information of the user sensed by the first device of the multiple devices, the health goal of the user, and the device capability information of the second device. An additional action includes providing the health related instruction to the second device.

An exercise apparatus includes a platform having a front roller, a rear roller and an endless belt mounted around the front roller and the rear roller for allowing a user to perform walking, jogging or running exercises on the belt. A flywheel is coupled to one of the two rollers. The treadmill also includes a running deck contained within the platform and exposed within the gap, a first pulley connected to the running deck, a second pulley connected to the running deck opposite the first pulley, a tread belt surrounding the first pulley and the second pulley, a first post removably connected to the platform, a second post removably connected to the platform, and a first rail transversely connected to the first post and the second post.
