A document feeder includes a document loading unit loaded with a document thereon and supported to be movable between (i) a loading position where the document can be loaded and (ii) an opened position where a space at a lower side of the document loading unit in a direction of gravity is opened, a separation unit including a feed roller and a separation roller being in pressure contact with the feed roller, the separation unit that separates the document fed from the document loading unit by a nip between the feed roller and the separation roller, and a guide member that guides the document fed from the document loading unit to the nip of the separation unit. When the document loading unit moves to the opened position, the separation roller and the guide member move to be spaced apart from each other.

An image forming apparatus includes a display and an image forming unit. The display includes a display screen to display a preview image before an image is formed on a recording medium. The image forming unit forms, on the recording medium, an image corresponding to the preview image displayed on the display screen. Each of a vertical length and a horizontal length of the display screen is equal to or greater than a length of a long side of a maximum size recording medium on which an image is to be formed by the image forming unit.

A sheet separation mechanism comprises a separation roller set and a reverse roller set rotating in the same rotation direction. The reverse roller set presses sheets onto the separation roller set to stop one or multiple ones of the sheets close to the reverse roller set from passing through a nip between the separation and reverse roller sets, and allow the sheet directly contacting the separation roller set to pass through the nip. The reverse roller set comprises a shaft, and two reverse rollers and an annular member all mounted on the shaft, which rotates the reverse rollers. The annular member, disposed between the two reverse rollers, is rotatable relatively to the shaft and movable relatively to the shaft in a radial direction of the shaft. The annular member and the reverse rollers commonly press the sheets. A sheet-fed scanning apparatus using the sheet separation mechanism is also provided.

An image forming apparatus is provided with USB sockets on front and back sides, and includes a determining unit for determining whether or not a USB device inserted to a front side USB socket 184 is a function enhancement device, and a control unit making, when it is determined by the determining unit that a function enhancement device is inserted to the front side USB socket 184, the USB device unusable and making, when it is determined that a USB device other than the function enhancement device is inserted, the USB device usable. Thus, it is possible to prevent a USB wireless LAN adapter or the like from being used constantly connected to the front side USB socket and thereby to reduce possibility of USB wireless LAN adapter of being damaged or removed.

Embodiments provide a video camera configured to capture, compress, and store video image data in a memory of the video camera at a rate of at least about twenty three frames per second. The video image data can be mosaiced image data, and the compressed, mosaiced image data may remain substantially visually lossless upon decompression and demosaicing.

An image forming apparatus is provided with USB sockets on front and back sides, and includes a determining unit for determining whether or not a USB device inserted to a front side USB socket 184 is a function enhancement device, and a control unit making, when it is determined by the determining unit that a function enhancement device is inserted to the front side USB socket 184, the USB device unusable and making, when it is determined that a USB device other than the function enhancement device is inserted, the USB device usable. A print device includes a housing, a lid body, a display device, and a mounting portion. An opening is formed in an upper portion of the housing. The lid body opens and closes the opening of the housing by a second end portion side of the lid body pivoting around a predetermined rotation axis provided at a first end portion of the lid body. The mounting portion is provided on an upper portion of the lid body when the opening is closed. The display device can be attached to and detached from the mounting portion along a predetermined attachment/detachment direction with respect to the lid body. The attachment/detachment direction is orthogonal to an extending direction of a tangent line. The tangent line is tangential to a circumferential direction of the rotation axis at a position of the second end portion of the lid body.

A print device includes a housing, a lid body, an input device, and a mounting portion. An opening is formed in an upper portion of the housing. The lid body opens and closes the opening of the housing by a second end portion side of the lid body pivoting around a predetermined rotation axis provided at a first end portion of the lid body. The mounting portion is provided on an upper portion of the lid body when the opening is closed. The input device can be attached to and detached from the mounting portion along a predetermined attachment/detachment direction with respect to the lid body. The attachment/detachment direction is orthogonal to an extending direction of a tangent line. The tangent line is tangential to a circumferential direction of the rotation axis at a position of the second end portion of the lid body.
